After the Mass we returned home to get Bro. Ryan's bag and to fill our. We ate our early lunch and he said 'goodbye' to my father, my sister Len and my niece Mary Louise. At the sala where we chat for a long time the night before sharing about apologetics, he requested to have picture taking with me and my family. We obliged of course.
"And hospitality do not forget: for by this some, being not aware of it, have entertained angels." [Hebrews 12:2 Douay-Rheims Version]
I love this beautiful statement from the Epistle to the Hebrews. It reminds us to practice hospitality and in doing so maybe unaware but we are already serving an angel. Well, actually it is true. First and foremost it reminds me of the Story of Tobit who was very kind to his companion that later on he found to be the Angel Raphael.
The above passage from the Epistle to the Hebrews is not limited to the real angels but also to human beings who can be sacrament of Christ's presence for us. Providing hospitality to Bishops and Priests is an act of charity to ambassadors of Christ. The same thing for our religious, monks and consecrated persons.
Even lay people who are very holy and are dedicated servants of the Lord. Having them in our house is like having a living saint among us. And, I believe that we are not lacking of this kind of people in the Church. There are people in our Christian communities whose practice of the Beatitudes is so genuine so that they radiate on their faces the presence of God.

Hello Father! I didn't know you're also a bulakenyo. Actually, I am half-batangueno and half-bulakenyo. Hehehe... My father is originally from Malolos but he raised his family here in Batangas. Our house there in Malolos is just 5 min. walk away from the Historic Barasoain Church.
ReplyDeleteReally, so Kabayan! Ha,ha,ha... Wow, so who is staying in Malolos. I'm planning to visit this Summer the Barasoain Church and the Malolos Cathedral in order to present them in this Blog. If that is the case I can pass by your house to greet your relatives.
ReplyDeleteYou are from the heart of Bulacan while I am from the side, in San Jose del Monte City.
God bless you Bro. Rudolf.
Sierra Madre mountain range is a stunning scene, uncomparable splendor - I can’t understand why our government is not defending it from he destructive mining operations that has been going on for decades. Its majestic beauty reminds us of God’s love - the moments when you witness such sights and you find it hard to make clear what’s inside your heart, because its pure beauty overwhelms you - that’s God presenting to us his great natural gifts, I call such moment’s, my God moments :)

Dear Bro.Arnaldo,
ReplyDeleteYes, it is true that the government has failed in protecting this wonderful mountain range against the illigal loggers. As you can see the other half of the mountain, the one that resembles the Mayon Volcano a little bit is already bald. I got the chance to visit the other side of the ranges, the one in General Nakar in Quezon Province. We climbed the mountain to visit the indigenous people there under the case of the Franciscan Missionaries and along the way we found a lot of trees cut and logs scattered on the ground caused by the syndicates.
The local people informed us [we were group of Fourth Year BS Theology students then accompanied by our Missiology professor Rev. Fr. Martin Ueffing, SVD STD from Germany] that they were also trying to prevent the logging but on many occasions the loggers are too many and they are heavily armed. Some natives have been shot already.
May the Lord of Creation help us combat and defeat those criminals of our natural resources.
