The other day our Apologia Forum received a post from one of its members named Filipino Catholic who is a Catholic apologist from Davao and a member of Catholic Faith Defenders in the City. He is a good friend. His posts are great blessing us all because he keeps on leading us to various sources of information in the internet. Through him we found rare books, links to excellent articles written by great theologians and Doctors of the Church and also numerous references for the Catholic Faith and commentaries on the Holy Bible. Some of us are giving data and article from time to time; like one who provide fish occasionally. But, Bro. Filipino Catholic didn't just give us few fish; he led us to the lake where the fishponds are. He is a living mine of resources and for that we can never thank him enough. There are a lot of Catholic References that can be downloaded from the site such as Catholic Encyclopedia, Catechisms and even the 1909 Catholic Dictionary which was added generously by the owner of the site due to personal request of Bro. Filipino Catholic. Here is the link to the downloads:
I am not aware of the identity of the man who did this wonderful software but Bro. FC referred to him here:
"He was the one who compiled that Catechism and various Catholic Modules. The downlaodable Catholic stuff are found in that site."-- FC
I HAVE PERSONALLY DOWNLOADED SOME OF THESE FILES, ESPECIALLY THE CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE 1909 CATHOLIC DICTIONARY AND I WAS SURPRISED WHEN I TRIED TO USE THEM. THE CATECHISM IS NOT JUST LIMITED TO THE PRESENTATION OF THE TEXT BY TABLE OF CONTENTS. BESIDES THAT THERE IS AN INDEX OF TOPICS AND A GLOSSARY. AMONG THE CCC GUIDE I HAVE USED EITHER IN PUBLISHED FORM OR ONLINE VERSION THIS IS THE ONE I THINK THAT IS GIVING THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE GUIDE AND THE EASIEST TO UTILIZE. TOPICS ARE EASILY LOCATED, THEOLOGICAL TERMS ARE EASY TO FIND AND THE CORRESPONDING CCC TEXT FOR EACH TOPIC ARE ALREADY PROVIDED BY LINKS; IN A SIMPLE CLICK OF THE MOUSE THE DESIRED TEXT IS AVAILABLE FOR US TO READ OR COPY PASTE. This will be a great help for scholars and students alike, a valuable tool for our priests who are always eager to attune their sermons with the official teachings of the Church and this will be a blessing for our Catechists who are always in need of the CCC for their lectures. Let us enjoy this free software and recommend it to our friends as well.

ReplyDeleteI downloaded it and it won't work...it says "the address is not valid" when it pops up...and on everything "I click"...:( Anyone else having problems? (Vista)
ReplyDeleteDear Vista,
ReplyDeletePlease try to download first E-Sword System. It is free in the internet and then downloads the files there and they will open for you.
Hope this will help.
God bless you.
If purgatory really exist why Jesus did not
ReplyDeletementioned it to one of the thief? He said "From
now on you will be with me in Paradise" he
did not said go to purgatory first and cleansed
then heaven, why? Because PURGATORY is just invention of man.
In Catholic Apostle's Creed "He will come in glory to judge the LIVING and the DEAD" What
ReplyDeleteJesus going to do for His second coming to judge the DEAD if all people died is already
CLEANSED in PURGATORY? That's contradiction!
There is no need for Jesus to say such a thing because the Repentant Thief suffered already the pain of crucifixion as a reparation for the sins he committed. That is why he was sent by Jesus straight to Heaven.
ReplyDeleteThis is in line with the teaching of the Catholic Church which says that those who have already suffered with Christ here on earth commensurate to the sins they have committed and have genuinely repented will not be required to pass through purgatorial fire.
The Contradiction is existing in your mind but not in Catholic Teaching.
ReplyDeleteThe Creed states "He will come to judge the LIVING and the DEAD." Those who are already in heaven have been judged already so they will not be judged anymore during the Second Coming. While those in Hell are likewise judged already. They're condemned. So who will be judged among the dead? THOSE WHO ARE STILL BEING CLEANSED IN PURGATORIAL FIRE.
The fact that there will be judgment in the after-life proves that there is a Purgatory.
Regarding your question: "What Jesus going to do for His second coming to judge the DEAD if all people died is already CLEANSED in PURGATORY?"
Well, that is your problem. The Catholic Church doesn't teach that ALL those who have died are cleansed in Purgatory. Where did you get that? That's not Catholic doctrine. We believe that those who died under the state of mortal sin or those who led an unrepentant evil life will go to hell and those who lived a life of great holiness will go to heaven directly and will not pass the cleansing fire of Purgatory.
Again, the Contradiction is only in your mind and in your distorted knowledge of the Catholic Faith.
