SIMBANG GABI 2008: Part 4 Nazareno I Chapel in Towerville

The Nazareno I Chapel is one of the newly birth Chapel in Sto. Rosario Parish but it has blossomed into a very large community of believers who are very active in the faith. Their Masses are always filled with people. The people in the area are poor but they are rich in faith in God.

St. Joseph is also very much loved by the people of Towerville

During Simbang Gabi, they really prepared for each Mass and the people were joyfully participating in each song and responses. There are a lot of active young people serving as choir and as acolytes. I also notice that they have greater participation of male members in comparison with other Chapels.

The camera cannot capture everything. The Chapel of the Black Nazarene was filled with people including the areas around the Church and the road in front of the Church is closed to traffic. The covered Basketball court adjacent to the Chapel was also filled with people.

The success of the Apostolate in this Chapel is due to the untiring and heroic sacrifices of Bro. Jun and his wife Puring. Jun serves as lay minister while Puring as Commentator or Lector in the Mass. They coordinate with the Parish Priest and with the people in the area and diligently assure the progress of faith in the area.

The members of the Chapel Choir are very young and very active not only during Christmas Seasons but the whole year long.

When the number of population in Towerville increased tremendously due to migration Bro. Jun worked hard to establish a new Chapel for the upper part of the area. Now, it has given regular Sunday Masses in a makeshift Chapel and is also attended by a good number of people and has countered the presence of the Protestant missionaries from Korea.

One of the lay ministers, Bro. Jun, guiding the acolytes. Bro. Jun and his wife Puring are the heart and soul of Nazareno I and Nazareno II Chapels. They are heroes of faith in the area.
