Malacañang Sa Sugbu means Malacañang In the South. It refers to the seat of Government in Manila located near the Pasig River is popularly known as The Malacañang Palace.
The Capital of the Philippines is Manila and therefore it houses the Seat of Power. However, the people of the South particulary Cebu are culturally hurt by such a decision because this City was ahead of Manila during the Spanish time and is more populous than the capital.
In order show appreciation to the people of the South the president built an extension of the Seat of Government in the Queen City of the South and named it: Malacañang Sa Sugbu.
This building is not as large as the one in Manila but it is a worthy testament to the greatness of the people in this land that first accepted Christianity in our shore.
