These are 'Salakot' the traditional and native head covering used by Filipinos and even Asian farmers to protect themselves from the heat of the sun. They are artistically colored and used in Mactan Airport as decors.Right in the Mactan Airport the deep Catholic Faith of the Cebuanos is very evident. The image of the PIT SENYOR is enshrined in its midst consecrating the entire region to the Patron Lord. It is also a manifestation to the visitors that the people of Cebu are deeply in-loved with the Holy Child Jesus and they are very proud of their Catholic heritage.
The much beloved Patron of Cebu: The PIT SENYOR [THE CHILD-LORD] or popularly known as The Sto. Niño. Right at the center of Mactan International Airport there is an Altar wherein the Holy Child is enshrined.VIVA! VIVA! PIT SENYOR!
