CEBU TRIP, Part 9 The Chapel of Casa Miani Arvedi-Buschini in Minglanilla Cebu

The Altar and the Sanctuary

The Chapel of Casa Miani in Cebu is half-circular in form and is filled with Biblical Images of the Lord Jesus, the Cross, the Lamb of God, the Vine and the Branches and the River of Life. The use of images is important for catechetical purpose because they will serve as instruction materials on matters of faith for the Children.

The Blessed Sacrament

By looking at the Altar the Children are like reading passages of the Gospel with the Risen Jesus as the Lord of all and at the center of our lives and that the real Bread is the Lord Jesus Himself. Then we can worship the Lord by following the examples of Mary and St. Jerome Emiliani who lived the Christian life faithfully until death through suffering and pain.
The Tabernacle

Again, I was hoping that the Blessed Sacrament was put at the Center of the Sanctuary, however, it is still given the honor that it deserves. The Repositorium is not that large but enough for the needs of that Community. The cover beautifull depicts the Lord Jesus during a Sacred Meal with Sts. Peter and John at His side.

The Blessed Sacrament, focus

The Chapel is not designed for many worshippers but it is more than large enough for the use of its few regular occupants. It is good to know that during Sunday the faithful in the area are coming in to attend Sunday Masses. And that the people have shown great love and affection for our children and for the Somascan religious serving in the area.
