THE YOUNG STUDENTS OF CATHOLIC APOLOGETICS IN SORSOGON

Fr. Abe Arganiosa, CRS with the students of Sorsogon State College Engineering Department led by John Rey Lasap. The students visited Fr. Abe because one of their teachers was attacking the Catholic Faith inside the classroom and in class hour. They requested to be trained in Catholic Apologetics.
One Friday afternoon last March 2009 Fr. Abe was surprised by the presence of Sorsogon State College students requesting for an audience with him. Being free that time he obliged. Then he found out that these students are eager to learn Catholic Apologetics because their Catholic Faith is under attack right inside the classroom because one of the professors who belong to the Baptist denomination was regularly attacking the Perpetual Virginity of the Blessed Virgin and was promoting his religion's doctrine of Justification and Once Saved Will Always Be Saved.
Right there and then I gave them crash lecture in Apologetics and answered their questions. Since then they returned 3 times more until they became busy for Final Examinations. These four increased into six. They are:
1. John Rey F. Lasap
2. Johanna May Alero
3. Liezel Gajo
4. Ma. Anniflor D. Dollesin
5. Sheena Diaz
5. Ronald Rey Enciso
Being Engineering students the minds of these youngsters are very sharp and analytical and they are very eager to learn the elements of faith.
Fr. Abe taught Bible Study and Marian apologetics to the Elementary and freshmen High School students of Our Lady's Village in Bibincahan, Sorsogon City. The students requested for Fr. Abe after they have heard attacks against the Blessed Virgin Mary coming from cult members roaming around the area.

Then John Rey invited me to talk to the Elementary students of OLV Bibincahan Chapel. I was informed that there were cult members going around the area trying to recruit the students to join their activities. So, we also organized our own Bible Study in the Chapel.

The group with John Rey Lasap. Being a long time Knight of the Altar in Fatima Parish, John Rey is connected to various groups and activities for the young in the parish.

I was delighted to see the students coming with Bible and notepad on hands and they really took notes. They were even more eager than the elder ones in taking notes of the explanations. It was a delight to see these young boys and girls so attentive and so eager to learn the Holy Bible. May the Lord bless their innocent souls.

Fr. Abe explaining to the young students the first chapter of the Gospel of Luke. The students were listening attentively, reading their Bible for the passages and taking notes diligently.
