The Church of St. John the Divine of the Ukrainian Catholic Church. May I remind that the title 'the divine' doesn't mean that he is 'god' but that this saintly was very godly in his living of the Christian faith.
Our good friend from Davao branch of Catholic Faith Defenders, Bro. Isahel 'Don' Alfonso started a new blog with the aim of defending the Catholic Faith. I think it is worth visiting.
Don is a young man, newly graduate of BS Nursing from Ateneo de Davao University and is now preparing for his board exams. Besides reviewing he is spending time teaching Bible study to group of youngsters and share the bear through his blog.
The Blog is very new and I think the young people can study the faith by reading the works of one of their own. Here is the link to CATHOLIC ETERNAL TRUTH BLOG:

Thanks Father for the advertisement.hehehe God Bless you.
ReplyDeleteDear Bro. Isahel,
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. It's a Christian duty to promote the works of those who are defending the faith.
God bless and keep up the good work.
What can you say about the book of Bro. Nonoy Lopez? It does not have a Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. I think he did not pass the requirements for approval. What is your opinion on this? Is he misleading Catholics?
ReplyDeleteI am not aware of the story behind the book. Most probably Bro. Nonoy Lopez didn't submit that book for Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat. Or it was rejected because those who read it are liberal Catholics and are not in favor of apologetic defense of the faith. I don't know which.
ReplyDeleteTo those who have read the book please point out if there is any statement contrary to our Catholic Faith.
Thank you.
Bro. Nonoy is saying that there are errors in the Holy Scriptures. He cited many examples to prove his case. I cannot believe this is coming from a real Catholic. Do you accept that as part of the official teachings of the Holy Church? It seems you have read his book. If you were to be given the authority to judge the book would you give it the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur? I doubt.
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteI have seen the book in National Bookstore and browsed it a little but didn't read the entire text yet. So, I am not yet in a position to properly give proper judgment on it. IF WHAT YOU ALLEGED IS TRUE then it there will really be no Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat to be given because we believe in the Inerrancy of Sacred Scriptures.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Read it and excommunicate him!
ReplyDeleteDear Anonymous,
ReplyDeletePlease bear in mind that only the Pope and the Bishops can excommunicate. And, these people are not issuing excommunications left and right for every theological mistakes committed by Catholics all over the world.
You have stated above that the Book of Bro. Lopez was not given Imprimatur and Nihil Obstat because of statement questioning the Inerrancy of Scriptures. You could be correct. But, the Bishop to whom he submitted the draft for Imprimatur didn't excommunicate him and also the panel of theologians chosen by the same Bishop for the Nihil Obstat. So, why should I pretend to be more knowledgeable.
Why are so you angry at Bro. Lopez to the point that you want him destoryed? Will you really be happy witht the demise of an opponent? Even in Boxing there are rules to be followed. No below the belt attack.
You are attacking Bro. Lopez below the belt. His name and identity are written in the book and you are mentioning his full name. Yet you are hidden as 'ANONYMOUS'. That is unethical and immoral. It reminds me of the ancient serpent in disguise.
THE GOAL OF EXCOMMUNICATION IS NOT PRIMARILY TO PUNISH BUT TO AID THE ERRING SOUL ATTAIN SALVATION BY BEING REPENTANT OF HIS MISTAKES. EXCOMMUNICATION IS THERE TO RECONCILE THE PERSON WHO COMMITTED HERESY TO GOD AND TO THE CHURCH. If Bro. Lopez will admit his mistake and offers apology then he will not be excommunicated.
Please pray for him and if ever you know his address please write him a letter pointing to the mistake he has committed. If you know his address or e-mail please forward to me and I will contact him personally.
Sorry for the strong words. I do not mean to hurt your person but to correct what I perceived to be unfair treatment of Bro. Lopez on your part. Please be sure that if you write a book and then you commit a mistake then I will not condemn you so easily either.
God bless you.
You said: If Bro. Lopez will admit his mistake and offers apology then he will not be excommunicated.
ReplyDeleteLet us make it simple: What if he does not? Should I or we consider him a heretic?
Dear Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteDelicate situation like that cannot be solved by such brand of simplistic reasoning.
Are you sure that he didn't admit his mistake? Are you really sure that he has committed such error? If Yes, what page of the book? How did he state it?
Instead of bringing this issue here in this blog, I suggest that you file your complaint to His Excellency the Bishop of Malolos, the Diocese in which Bro. Nonoy belong. You are in a wrong forum, brother. You are wasting your time here and you are wasting my time because I am not competent and the proper authority to condemn Bro. Nonoy based on what he has written on his book. Or better write the SACRED CONGREGATION FOR THE DOCTRINE OF THE FAITH, for sure Cardinal Levada will respond to your querries.
It seems that you are so obsessed with Bro. Nonoy. Please don't immediately condemn him just because of some mistakes. I was told that he served his Diocese as lay catechists for many years and he is a respected Catholic.
If you want to know if he admits his mistake as you claim it or if he is sorry for it, then GO TO HIM or WRITE HIM. Then when he answers by letter you have a solid proof of his stand on the matter.
Each of us has opinion but God will always consider whatever we utter...we need to respect it as we respect our creator for we are trying to follow God's humbleness.
