Our former Father Commissary and my former Superior in the Major Seminary, Rev. Fr. Valerio Fenoglio, CRS with Srilankan Somascans in Sri Lanka. Fr. Valerio is one of the two Somascans who officially started the Mission in the Philippines [The other one is Fr. Cesare de Santis, CRS now in his old age in Tagaytay City our Major Seminary]. Fr. Valerio is specially loved by Filipinos wherever he was assigned in the Philipppines because he speaks Filipino fluently, he sings like Pavarotti and is a very friendly man who used to visit the neighbors and students in their houses.Since I am not aware personally of the situation and this event in Sri Lanka let me give you the official message from our religious there which was given in English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese:
Fr. Hrudaya
The Charism of St. Jerome brought by the Spirit of Christ is alive in Sri Lanka through the persons of our Somascan religious working for the orphans and needy children. From Thannamunai - SRI LANKA
Dear Fathers and brothers greetings from the community of Miani Nagar . We are happy to be here and work for the orphan children and needy youth. We are doing well by the grace of God. We ask you to continue to pray for us so that we may not tempt to do our will but will of God. Often there is a tendency to do our will than the will of God.. We need to help each other so that we may able to say yes to the will of God and no to our personal and self glory. Children and brothers and fathers greet you all. Let us unite ourselves in the Eucharistic Lord whom disciples recognized at the breaking of the Bread. We too may unite ourselves whenever we take part or celebrate the Eucharist. WIth love, Fr. Hrudaya

Hrudaya

Having seen the picture of Fr. Valerio, I really remember and miss my previous Somascan way of life in Tagaytay City! Joseph F. Esperida
