The Church of Sto. Niño Parish in Parada, Sta. Maria, Bulacan

The Facade of the Sto. Niño Parish of Parada, Sta. Maria, Bulacan

This pictures was taken last December 2008 during my Christmas vacation. The CD containing these photos have been missing for a while and only now did I find it. I wanted to post about it earlier and now instead of focusing on the occasion I finally posted it but focusing on the Church of Parada, Sta. Maria.

The parish Patron, El Señor Sto. Niño

It was Christmas Season then so the Church was decorated by Christmas Lanterns and festive decors which added to the beauty of this House of Worship. It is not that big but a very beautiful and elegant one. Entering it and observing its interior is like a feast of faith. It is a wonderful reminder of the Incarnation of Jesus, the love of the Holy Family, the presence of the Angels and Saints and the Lord's gift of Salvation.

Once again I give my blessing and prayers to my godson Anton Girolamo that he will grow in the Spirit of God and be filled with the same virtues of St. Anthony of Padua and of St. Jerome Emiliani, his two Baptismal sainsts-protectors.

St. Joseph at the left side of the Holy Child, opposite the Blessed Mother. It is a fitting expression of the faith of our place. This municipality is named Sta. Maria while the neighboring municipality, now city, is named San Jose. This parish linking the two has the Holy Child as Patron. Perfect!!!

  1. Why is there the national flag by the altar?

I'm slightly concerned of nationalism in our churches. If there should be flag I think the Vativan flag could be outside.

Or is it like the idea of being for both country and God

  2. Usually our churches doesn't have the flag on the Altar or in the sanctuary. I also noticed that. The parish priest must be instilling love of God and love of country in the mind and heart of his flock. That flag is at the side anyway which only shows that the love of country must be rooted in our love of God.
