The ABC of Basketball - Coach Aldin Ayo Offers Basketball Clinic for Kids in Aemilianum Gymnasium

After some serious topics given earlier let us proceed to the lighter sides of our life these days. Let's talk about Basketball. O no, not the highly exciting PBA Finals between Ginebra and San Miguel teams; and not about the opening of UAAP 72 Season where Ateneo de Manila blue Eagles defeated the FEU Tamarraws.

Instead, I am referring to the Basketball activities in our school the ACI. Well, this is as exciting for us as NCAA or the UAAP. This is our local version of them and it is no less intense and important for us. In the Philippines there is a saying: "Better loose in all the games except in Basketball." Sports, sorry to say, is Basketball alone for 99.9 of our population. Everything else is but a shadow of the one.

Our coach, Aldin Ayo, a two-time NCAA champion from Letran College and a true blooded Basketball afficionado in Sorsogon already formed his new varsity team composed of 14 or 15 players. We will present them to you, one by one, later. And in order to help the school cope up with the expenses of maintaining the team the coach organized several programs and one of which is conducting a Basketball clinic every Saturday starting July 18, 2009.

Coach Aldin will be supported by his wife Joy who is herself a former Bastketball varsitarian. She was a member of UST Basketball team until she transferred to Letran where they met. The couple shall be supported by some of the varsity players.
Only 70 participants could be accommodated and at this point almost all spots are occupied. Our dean of the College of Law, Atty. Gerona enrolled one of his sons and so did our AITV5 technical director Mr. Rosauro Amistoso and the professors did the same for their kids. Children from various prominent schools in Sorsogon are enrolling.
The income from the said activity will help the Varsity Players for their needs during this year's sports competitions.

    The only one who can answer your question is Coach Aldin Ayo and you will get to know the answer once who present yourself to him and ask to be accepted. Of course if he is not aware of your identity and talents he will surely ask you to demonstrate and prove yourself. And for sure he will ask for some necessary documents concerning the status of your status as a College student. Especially if you are enrolled in other school in Sorsogon. If you are in ACI the difficulty is lesser.

    Well, I'm not the right person to be asked about that. He, he, he... Hope that coach Aldin will accept you so that I can greet you: WELCOME TO AEMILIANUM KNIGHTS!
