Former President Cory Aquino before the image of her assasinated husband, now a national hero, Senator Benigno S. Aquino Jr.
Major media released a report that our former President Corazon C. Aquino or Tita Cory who is battling a cancer of the colon is back in the hospital and is in serious medical condition. The Philippine Senate made a special prayers for her recovery and supporters gathered together to offer the Holy Mass on her behalf.
President Cory is an icon of Freedom and Democry for Filipinos. She led our people to victory against the 21 year Dictatorship of Ferdinand Marcos which culminated in the four days peaceful People Power Revolution in EDSA or Epifanio de los Santos Avenue. The event is also popularly called THE MIRACLE AT EDSA because of the religious belief that the four day revolution was due to the miraculous intervention of the Blessed Virgin Mary - the Queen of Peace to which the nation was consecrated.
President Cory is also known as the closest collaborator of the late prophet of our contemporary history, His Eminence Jaime Cardinal Sin. Both of them worked hard to restore democracy through perilous times after the EDSA Miracle, they worked hard to have a pro-life Philippine Constitution and joined forces to topple another corrupt regime, that of Joseph Ejercito Estrada.
She is by popular acclaim a living heroine of our race, our political Joan of Arc or Esther or Judith. A woman of faith and courage, a woman of purity and grace.
MAY THE MERCIFUL AND GOOD LORD THROUGH THE INTERCESSION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY GRANT HER HEALING.

dear Fr. Abe,
ReplyDeleteFather it is true that during the time of rizal the catholic church persecute the members of masonry?
Well, if we are going to believe the Anti-Catholics then it would appear that way. But in reality the Freemasons were numerous and even prominent people in Europe and in the Philippines during the time of Rizal. The national hero himself, while a freemason stayed in Spain to study, to join political movements, to tour around and to engage into arts or into amorous affairs - freely and happily.
ReplyDeleteThe so-called persecutions of the Church is largely based on myths. What the Catholic Church actually did was excommunicate the members of the masonry because their doctrines are incompatible with that of the Catholic Church. Besides the Masons were also undeniably anti-Catholic.
If the Catholic Church was persecuting the Freemaons, how come the Freemasons such as Rizal and his friends were openly and freely living in Spain and in Europe that time?
