Students from Partido State University of Camarines Sur attended 3-Day Training Seminar in AITV5

It was a great honor for our school, the Aemilianum College, to host seminars and training for students from other schools especially for bigger one... a University at that. That is why we welcomed with open arms the arrival of about 30 students from PARTIDO STATE UNIVERSITY of Camarines Sur.

It started last summer when Ms. Caballero joined the groups of heads of Communication Departments here in Aemilianum Conference Hall in which I was one of the speakers. We carried the event live and it was highly appreciated by the attendees. Right there and then Ms. Caballero contacted me and Sir Elmer Valenzuela if possible for their students to have their Training here and we readily agreed.

The students were given talks during the first day with speakers included Prof. Elmer Valenzuela, Mr. Totep Lorilla - one of the most respected media man in Sorsogon Province and one our Mass Communication teachers and Mr. Rosauro Amistoso our technical director.

The following day the students were sent into various places to serve as reporters. They went to public market to check the prizes of basic commodities, police stations, interviewed politicians, etc. then they spent the rest of the day editing their reports, watching them on screens and giving the voice over after meticulous practice.

Then on the third day, we had our full live news coverage. Two PSU students and one Aemilian served as newscaster while alternately the reports were shown mixed with live interviews in the same auditorium and outside the school. Ms. Margarita Pacay and Ms. Anna Marie Llagas of AITV5 did the interviews inside the school perimeter while those outside were all given to PSU students. It was really fun. The students who served as reporters were so happy to see themselves doing the actual job of reporting and knowing that the entire province watches them live.

Many students came to me saying: "Father, thank you for the opportunity that you have given us." During the departure time there were tears in the eyes of some and happiness on every body. It was so heartwarming to see these young people, so talented and so passionate to give their best in their chosen course.

After the newscast a short closing program was held and certificates and plaques were given. We gave them certificates of participation while they gave us plaques of appreciation for the Aemilianum College and for AITV5 addressed to my person. Some students presented songs and comedy skits and some expressed their personal messages.
