What is it?It is an instrument that integrates all the Somascan structures of Latin America.The proposal initiated many years ago, when Fr. Giuseppe Fava was Superior General, and continued in the years seventies and every time the number of the representatives of the Provinces increased; they were gathering in order to debate some issues of common interest: vocational promotion, initial and on-going formation, social institutions, pedagogical directives, selection of young religious for the participation to the General Chapter, Latin-American Novitiate, etc. This time the issue to be submitted to debate is the Latino American Post-NovitiateThe meeting is fixed for October 12 (feast of Our Lady Aparecida, patroness of Brazil) and will last until October 15. It will be presided by the P. José Antonio Nieto, Vicarious general, and by the P. Cataldo Campana, 4 º counselor.The spirit of Aparecida (the Meeting of Latino-American Episcopates) will surely be present in this encounter.Said reunion will also offer the occasion to prepare for the International Meeting of Somascan Formators, which will take place in Rome on February of the coming year.
