I commend Albert for standing up for the truth.
There is much evidence that proves that certain types of artificial contraceptives are abortifacient (meaning they can cause an abortion). Since HB 5043 explicitly funds these and even forces persons to dispense them, then the Bill is properly called an RH/Abortion Bill.
Let us not also forget that the Bill violates our civil rights. It forces doctors and health workers to dispense artificial/abortifacient contraceptives against their conscience under pain iof imprisonment or fines. If they object on religious grounds they must still refer teh requestor to someone else who will do the dirty deed. Thus they are being forced to help in the very act to which they object! That is like allowing a person to refuse to be an assassin then forcing him to refer the hit contract to another assassin who will do the job.
Section 21 (e) of the Bill even punishes those who speak out against it, supposedly to prevent "malicious disinformation". Such a thing, however, is not defined under our laws and could be easily interpreted to mean anyhting the Bill's pushers want it to be. They could then use this priovision to silence opposition to HB 5043. This is a clear violation of freedom of speech.
The RH/Abortion Bill is dangerous, both to the unborn and to democracy.
We should reject it.

Greetings Fr. Abe, I don't know if you remember this soul but I'm glad that you're still actively blogging - just got back from cebu and heard that the Tridentine mass is no more, why? if this is true? what happened? please share what you know...
ReplyDeleteOk on to this RH Bill. The Catholic stand is not really hard to understand, for Catholics and Non-Catholics, and being Catholics for hundreds of years, the argument of the Church will NEVER change regarding this matter. It is not really hard to see that its implementation would benefit not the 'poor' but the med company's producing these contraceptives. We know lobbyist and special interest groups has been hounding our obliging law makers for sometime to enact this. Lets face it, condoms and other contraceptives already exist and is widely used today - so RH bills and its policies are just making it bigger for the benefit of who? this is the question.
Anonymous,
ReplyDeleteThe CBCP can tap the best Catholic debaters for that. We have Doctors, Lawyers, Scientists, Professors of various fields to represent us on that debate.
It is improbable that the CBCP will summon me to represent our Bishops. If the pro condoms want to debate me they are free to visit this Blog and I will meet them here.
