Simple Question and Answer on Life-After Death

Jesus welcomes the soul of the blessed into the Kingdom of Heaven

Aren't those people who died because of their testimony for Jesus coming to life only on the first resurrection which will happen on the second coming of Christ? If yes, then how can the saints listen to prayers if they are already dead? If no, would it contradict the verse that says man is destined to die once and after this the judgment? -- Ms. Resilyn Bago [Dating Daan]

The doctrine that those who died because of their testimony for Jesus coming to life 'ONLY' ON THE FIRST RESURRECTION is another LIE taught by Eli Soriano.

What you are claiming is contrary to the Bible. The Sacred Scriptures testified that even before the Second Coming of Christ the souls of those who have died are already alive.

Please read carefully the teaching of the Lord Jesus concerning the death of Lazarus and the Rich Man in Luke 16:19-31. Both the beggar and the rich man died:

Luke 16:22 (King James Version) "And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;"

See for yourself. BOTH DIED and were BURIED. Which means their corpses are in cemeteries. Yet what did the Lord Jesus added:

Luke 16 (King James Version)
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

The Sinful Rich Man could SEE AND SPEAK. The righteous Abraham could SEE AND SPEAK. Lazarus is also there. THEY ARE ALL ALIVE EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NOT YET THE SECOND COMING OF JESUS. The Lord was not yet even crucified then, he was not yet rising from the dead. Yet, the Lord Jesus already preaching the Doctrine of Life-After Death.

The souls of the dead can even communicate with one another and they are concerned on what is happening on earth. The Catholic position is further supported by St. John when he wrote the Book of Revelation. He saw the souls of the martyrs in heaven, ALIVE and CALLING FOR THE JUSTICE OF GOD.

Revelation 6:9-10 (King James Version)
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

That is why read carefully the Bible and truly study it in the light of the Catholic Faith and you will see that the Catholic Faith is truly Biblical.

  2. Thank you Rev. Deacon.

In some of my exchanges with anti-Catholics in this blog there were instances that I've been very tough because Anti-Catholicism in the Philippines is very very strong. The Anti-Catholics here are more bitter than those in the United States and less reasonable.

Please pray for our apostolate in proclaiming and defending the truth of the Catholic Faith.
