umm father, I had a chance to hear Dr. Hahn's talk about the mass as the same once and for all sacrifice, may sinabi po sya na sa misa, inaalay din po ng Panginoon ang kanyang glorified resurrected body at kasama daw po ito sa calvary na inaalay... again, maybe namisinterpret ko po yung sinabi nya, pero totoo po ba ito?

Dear Fan of Scott Hahn,
Well, the best person to ask about that is Dr. Scott Hahn himself. But since you are asking me I will only rely on your statement.
You seem to be referring to his talks explaining his book: THE LAMB'S SUPPER. I was not able to listen to Dr. Hahn's talks on the topic but I have a copy of the book, fortunately.
Please bear in mind that the Lord Jesus only have ONE INCARNATE BODY. That Body is not tainted with sin and therefore Uncorrupted by Sin, Death and of the Tomb.
That One Body is the Body that He offered on Calvary and that is the same Body put inside the Tomb and that is the same Body that resurrected 3 days after. And that is the same Body that He had when He ascended into Heaven and the same Body He has now while sitting at the right side of the Father in Heaven.
So, Dr. Scott Hahn is correct in saying that Jesus offered His Body on Calvary and also His Resurrected Body.
The offering of his Resurrected Body though refers more to the Sacramental Manner of Sacrifice which is the Mass or the Eucharistic Sacrifice rather than the Bloody Crucifixion in Calvary.
Thus, we enter into a deeper understanding of the Body of Christ which is One and Eternal. Mystically the Church is the Body of Christ and that is why the Church is One and Only. Sacramentally, the Holy Eucharist is the Body and Blood of Christ that is why it is the One and Only Sacrifice for the Faithful.

Magandang umaga po, I find this article interesting at may gusto lang din po ako itanong na konektado po dito.
ReplyDeleteFather alam nyo po ba yung chaplet of Divine Mercy? kasi di po ba inaalay natin ang body, blood, soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus sa chaplet? hindi po ba natin kinokontra ito:
Hebrews 9:25
"Nor yet that he should offer himself OFTEN, as the high priest enters into the Holies every year with the blood of others:" (Douay Rheims)
sana po pakipaliwanag, salamat po
The Sacrifice mentioned in Heb 9:25 is the Sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross. WE are not repeating it. Jesus died on the CRoss only ONCE and that once is ONCE AND FOR ALL. It is Eternal.
ReplyDeleteWhat we are are repeating is the SACRIFCE OF THE BODY AND BLOOD OF THE LORD IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST which He gave us during the last supper. His command is clear: DO THIS IN REMEMBRENCE OF ME. Since then every Christians are repeating the LAST SUPPER which we call BREAKING OF THE BREAD OR EUCHARISTIC SACRIFCE.
The Blood Sacrifce on the Cross is ONCE but the Eucharistic Sacrfice on the Table of the Lord is Forever. THAT IS WHY IT IS ONCE AND FOR ALL.
What the enemies of the faith are doing is the 'ONCE' but they neglected the 'FOR ALL'. WE CATHOLICS FULFILL THE FULL LETTER OF THE SCRIPTURES.
