The beautiful facade of the Parish of St. Joseph in La Trinidad, Benguet
This is the parish we served with the Holy Mass and Apologetics Seminar last February 21, 2010 - THE PARISH OF ST. JOSEPH.
The front view of the Church and its entrance
I don't know if I heard it right but as I remember it this is the oldest Church in this place and therefore of historic value besides being the house of worship of Catholics in the area. The Church is already old and I think it is in need of renovation. Fortunately a new Church is under construction nearby and there is news that the goal is to declare this Church a Basilica.
St. Joseph the Patron Saint
It is obvious that the architecture of this Church is similar to the Chapel of San Pablo Seminary in Baguio City. It seems that this style is very common in the area and is suited of the climate and need of the local residents. The entire structure is made of wood which gives it a solemn atmosphere and that of being at home. At the same time there is no need of much adornments but its natural colors and beauty are enough captivate the heart of a worshipper to be reminded of the things of heaven.
Our Lady of Covadonga
The Church is prominent for its simplicity yet elegand beauty. What I find most beautiful is the magnificent image of Our Lady of Covadonga or Nuestra Snra. de Covadonga at the far end of the right side of the Church. There the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary glows in beauty. This is one of the most beautiful image of our Lady I have ever seen in person.
The Left side of the Church from St. Joseph High School
Another thing that I liked most in this Church is the Tabernacle with two angels carrying the Crown on top of the Blessed Sacrament... showing Jesus as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. It's very beautiful and it reminds one of the the Ark of the Covenant in the Holy of Holies of the Temple in Jerusalem.
