They are arguing that the said date cannot be the birthday of the Lord Jesus because according to the Bible when Jesus was born the shepherds were guarding their flock on the fields. They said that it was impossible for the said shepherds to guard their flock during December because during this season Bethlehem is covered with SNOW.
That lie is supported by another preacher now hiding for his homosexual rape case. He is no other than Eli Soriano of Church of God International Incorporated or popularly known as Dating Daan [na nilakaran ng masasamang tao].
Sorry for them. Catholic Apologists argued that the claim is preposterous and smack of ignorance because Israel is still part of Asia and not all areas even in the West are covered with Snow during December such as Rome and California. And of course, Bethlehem is not covered with snow during the month of December.
Fortunately, last Christmas 2009 ABS-CBN made a special report on how Filipino Catholics celebrate the Nativity of the Lord right in Bethlehem on December 25 itself. And the video shows Bethlehem as SNOW-FREE... the plants and trees have leaves and the ground dry. It was only cold as shown by the coats that people are wearing and a bit windy as well as foggy on some areas but NO SNOW AT ALL.

As you can see Soriano is a LIAR. He presented pictures showing there is a snow in Bethlehem but those pictures could be manipulated. First, who shot them? Are they pictures taken by independent sources such as from Time Magazine, or other media outlets like GMA 7 or ABS-CBN?
How sure are we that they were taken during December and not February?
As you can see our video is more solid evidence. It is from realible sources, non-biased and from a highly respected media institution.

That is a product of Eli Soriano's hallucinations and ignorance. In fact, recent studies by genuine scholars show that there is no proof of this claim. There is no Pagan Festival for Dec. 25 that antedates or prior to the Christmas Festival of the Christians:
