ANSWERING ACCUSATION AGAINST THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN THE PHILIPPINES

Betis Church interior, Pampanga

Philippine history is rife with oppression by the roman church. Even now the church is corrupted by power and influence and betrays its people. Even today the clergy preys upon the innocent and the cardinals conceal this.

Excuse me. I think I find your comment OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY.

First, the Catholic Church in the Philippines is the Philippine Church which is united with Rome. But, it is a Philippine Church run and ruled by Filipinos. Don't forget that Masonry is foreign in origin too. If you want to be purely out of Western influence live and think like the Baluga and the Negritoes of the mountains.

Second, the masons are corrupted by power much more. Because they are in all stratas of powers: both political and business. The Catholic Church upholds the separation of Church and State. If ever we influence it is because the Filipino people trust us more than you and your cohorts. The Catholic Church has moral and spiritual powers but not political.

Third, the Catholic Church is composed of the majority of the Filipino people. How can the Church betrays the people when it is made of the same people that you are claiming to have been betrayed. The Catholic Church is the pioneer in Education of the Filipinos and its scientific and technological development. We are also the champion of charities. Even government institutions cannot equal the scale and quality of Catholic Charities. That is why the people loves our clergy very much. If we had done evil then they would have condemned us to oblivion. Let me remind you: "Affection cannot be legislated." Love cannot be gained by force or by threat. It is arising naturally from the heart of every person because of the good things done by the other. On the other hand, the other party is loved because it is 'earned'. Your claim is not only founded on illusions but it is illogical.

Fourth, among the Masons are there not people guilty of the sins that you are accusing us of. Are there no corrupt among you? Are there no abusers among you? As if those sins are exclusive of Catholics. C'mmon, don't be a hypocrite. Even among the atheists that same evil exists. Before you throw a stone on us make it sure that your house is not made of glass. Your accusation can be hurled on the same manner and intensity on your own group and to other groups whether political parties, religious organizations, business corporations and various races. If there are Mafias in Italy there are also Yakuzas in Japan and there are the Gangs of New York... and don't forget the warlords in Russia and Afghanistan. There are also Jueteng lords in the Philippines. These groups belong to various religions but with the same corruption existing. We also do not deny the good things that arise from these people and groups.

Stop demonizing my Church for the sake of your group or your church. That very act itself speaks lowly of you.
Fifth, the Cardinals conceal this. Excuse me. That is the reason why the cases of the few Catholic priests accused of abuses are known publicly because we cooperate and we pay the damages and we face our problems fairly and squarely. In our society, year in and year out students are being killed by hazing yet almost none are persecuted because the members of the fraternities have implemented a mafia style 'Omerta' [absolute silence]. One leader of an anti-Catholic religion is wanted for homosexual rape yet he is in hiding abroad, protected by his own members. But our Catholic priests found to have been abusers are being given ecclesiastical and legal punitive actions. We are willing to suffer heavy damages in order to bring to justice our own who violated the laws.

Few months ago, 5,000 priests gathered at World Trade Center for the 2nd National Congress of Philippine Clergy. Now, how many of them are sexual abusers and being hid by the Cardinals?

MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS THAT 'YOU GET REAL'!
