Last April 30, 2010 the entire Sorsogon Province, especially the capital - Sorsogon City, was visited by the sister of Senator Benigno Aquino III, VIEL AQUINO. She was accompanied by her cousin PAOLO BENIGNO AQUINO IV and his father MR. PAUL AQUINO, brother of our late National Hero, SEN. BENIGNO AQUINO JR.
Viel is the most shy and private of all the Aquino siblings. She was very simple, kind and obviously a woman of virtue like her late mother PRES. CORAZON C. AQUINO. She has an aura of holiness like Tita Cory. I asked her about the HOLY ROSARY GIVEN BY SIS. LUCIA TO TITA CORY. SHE SAID THAT SHE KEEPS IT AND PRAYING WITH IT MOST OF THE TIME. I told her to keep it not only for her and her family but also for the nation. Because that is a precious and powerful relic of two saints. SIS. LUCIA AND TITA CORY herself.
I got the chance to talk to her thoroughly, asks her questions, expressed mine and my family's affection for her late parents, his brother NOYNOY and his entire family. In the same manner I got the chance to talk to the Ninoy look alike Bam Aquino whom I have heard is a Summa cum Laude in Ateneo.
The Aquinos are very kind and simple people. I am glad to have been invited in the event and seat with them at the table of honor even though I was formerly seated in the middle of the crowd. The mayor of Sorsogon Leovic Dioneda asked me to join them on the stage.

cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks.
ReplyDeleteGood day po Fr. Abe!
ReplyDeleteKnowing your credentials, both academically and spiritually, I pray and hope to see someone like you become a spiritual adviser of Noynoy Aquino who might be our next President and other politicians like him. It is better to see an orthodox priest leading the leaders of our country than to see him behind a so-called son of god, the grandson of an angel, the "otherwiseman," and liberals from the S.J.(Saksi ni Jehovah.) That way, the president will not fall to the extreme left, which is communism, and the extreme right which is liberation theology..I made a mistake, both are from the extreme left! I'm sorry..
Sabi ng isang anonymous sa inyo Fr. hindi ka raw lumalabas sa public? Eh ano eto?
Let us pray for a peaceful and good election. God bless
Bro. Jub Alabastro
Thank you Bro. Jub.
ReplyDeleteSome conservative Catholics want to demonize Noynoy because he is not coming out as strongly against RH Bill as they want him to be. I think that is a very wrong move. Instead of adding childhood Catholics to our cause we are throwing them away and are letting the leftists win over their hearts and mind.
Noynoy is a very good Catholic from childhood being the son of Cory and Ninoy. He is not a drunkard, not a gambler, not a womanizer, a model student, an honest politician and is praying the Rosary as well as attending Holy Masses and is bestfriend to many priests and nuns.
He already stated that as a Catholic he will obey and respect the decision of his Church. Yet for some it is not enough they want to put him down despite the fact that during the darkest moments of our history it is this guy who was with us in fighting the Martial Law, election frauds, opposing the Charter Change and deposing dictators. His lack of knowledge in Catholic moral theology is more the fault of Catholic educators who were his catechist in the foremost Catholic University in the country and of the religious close to their family.
Thus, instead of condemning, rejecting it is our duty to guide him to right understanding of the Splendor of Truth. To attract his mind to the validity of our reason against that of the culture of death.
Anyway, I will not be an adiver to him or to any politician. I AM A SOMASCAN AND WE SOMASCANS ARE NOT WORKING FOR THE RICH AND THE POWERFUL BUT MERELY WORKING WITH THE POOR AND PROCLAMING THE GOSPEL. I came out in public for Noynoy not as a priest but as discerning citizen of the land. I bow to the Bishops in matters of faith and morals but they cannot dictate me whom to vote because when some of them hobnobbed with the anti-catholic politicians I wanted to vomit but I kept my silence out of respect to their freedom and rights to voice their preference.
Yes, Bro. I am usually keep a private-communitarian life but I also go public when demanded by the time to do so. I go public to defend the faith, to teach, to evangelize and sometimes to express my political preference too.
Fr. Abe,
ReplyDeleteI have two points to comment: one related to this post and the other is not.
Permit me to be frank, Father. I really acknowledge the charisma that Noynoy is showing to the masses, and I have absolutely nothing against him. I would just comment that though his origins, platforms, and ideas are great, the Voters' reluctance of choosing him lies on the scandals and cases being thrown against him, whether it is from other opposing parties or from the People themselves; and whether this is true or false. Another disadvantage is that as Senator, he passed a number of bills, but not one of them were legalized; I am talking about his track record as a legislator. After seeing these blemishes against his reputation, should the People have second thoughts of voting someone else?
The other comment would be this: I would like to know more of defending our Catholic Faith and counter-attacking those who oppose it for, sometimes, very irrational reasons. I, then, would like to ask you to teach me on apologetics. I am actually starting by studying E-books I downloaded from the cyberspace. I cannot make this my primary study come June, but rest assured I will try my very best not only to save the Faith that was inscribed in me, but also to live it in the environment I am on.
May God bless you, Father, and may He encourage you to serve Him more!
Dear Bro. Ian Joseph,
ReplyDeleteFIRST AND FOREMOST, BELATED HAPPY FEASTDAY. YOU ARE JOSEPH, SO LAST MONDAY WAS YOUR FEASTDAY.
[Permit me to be frank, Father. I really acknowledge the charisma that Noynoy is showing to the masses, and I have absolutely nothing against him.]
Thank you for being frank. It's alright. Even us religious and priests in our community are sharing and from time to time arguing political ideas as well as preference. Out of 8 we have 5 for Noynoy and 3 for Gibo. He, he, he...
[I would just comment that though his origins, platforms, and ideas are great, the Voters' reluctance of choosing him lies on the scandals and cases being thrown against him, whether it is from other opposing parties or from the People themselves; and whether this is true or false.]
If the accusation is true then he is finished. If it is false then peple will uphold him.
The psychiatric tests thrown at him were proven to be FALSE BEYOND ANY REASONABLE DOUBT. The Clark-Subic Highway was also proven to be a clean project because the change in the plan actually lessened the highway and its intrusion in Hacienda Luisita and thus lesser expenses for the government.
The so-called Luisita Massacre happened in 2004 when Tita Cory was already retired. She was living peacefully with Noy in a simple, small house in Times Street in Quezon City. Only a small percent of the hacienda belongs to them. Then eyewitnesses testified that those who shot them were police and military sent by the government. Thus, it is the Gloria govt. that must be answerable for it. Actually, the Filipino people never blamed Tita Cory for it, only the communists led cause oriented groups.
[Another disadvantage is that as Senator, he passed a number of bills, but not one of them were legalized; I am talking about his track record as a legislator.]
The role of Sen. Aquino in Congress is more a fiscalizer than a bill-maker. He was active in the impeachment of Erap and Gloria. He was active in opposing all Charter Change proposals. He was active in debates and in committee chairmanships. In fact, he became Deputy Speaker for Luzon, a very high position in Congress.
In the Senate even the critical Ping Lacson, Chiz Escudero, etc. speaks highly of him as unambitious, hardworking, dedicated and honest politician. A true gentleman. Watch his debates, he was very sharp, precise and even better than Manny Villar and many other politicians in expressing his ideas.
[After seeing these blemishes against his reputation, should the People have second thoughts of voting someone else?]
I find the accusations against him as shallow and baseless.
Erap is a convicted criminal. Villar is swimming on sea of corruption charges. Gibo was Tuta ni Danding, Tuta ni Erap, Tuta ni Gloria. It was under his term that the military supplied weapons to Ampatuans and during Ondoy he was useless as NDCC chair. Under his hose his own party is disintegrating while Noy strengthened the LP from the scratch.
continuation....

I am willing to help you Bro. to teach you and to share my techniques with you.
[I, then, would like to ask you to teach me on apologetics. I am actually starting by studying E-books I downloaded from the cyberspace.]
I can even introduce you to my own group Defensores Fidei Foundation or to the Catholic Faith Defenders if you live in the South. We will train you and share our talents and resources with you.
[I cannot make this my primary study come June, but rest assured I will try my very best not only to save the Faith that was inscribed in me, but also to live it in the environment I am on.]
That's great Bro. Ian Joseph. Please send through this comment section your E-mail address. I will not post it but copy it instead for our communication.
[May God bless you, Father, and may He encourage you to serve Him more!]
GOD BLESS YOU TOO.
Just a follow-up, Father.
ReplyDeleteThe INC(M) has chosen the LP Standard-bearers in their "traditional" bloc voting for this elections; and this declaration was just last morning. What would you say about it?
I would like to thank you for your willingness to help me learn more on apologetics. However, I live in Cavite; and I am regretful that it is only in the Internet that we could exchange our thoughts....
Anyway, this is my email address: ------------
I am really grateful that I have an online friend like you whom I can declare as a "veteran" in this field of the Faith.
May God bless you!

Dear Bro. Ian Joseph,
ReplyDelete[Just a follow-up, Father.
The INC(M) has chosen the LP Standard-bearers in their "traditional" bloc voting for this elections; and this declaration was just last morning. What would you say about it?]
As I have stated previously in this Blog I disagree with the INC policy of Bloc Voting or Imperative Vote. I find it violative of human freedom and of one's conscience which are two of the most beautiful gifts of God to men that even the Almighty is respecting them.
This is one INC doctrine that is not founded on Sacred Scriptures.
Now, personally it favors my political preference for President and Vice President of the Philippines. Although I disagree I cannot deny the fact that this political act of INC is a powerful tool in our country's election of officials. Thus, I consider it as a welcoming news because at least the INC has chosen honest men for the top positions in the government.
On the otherhand, I also notice that the INC Executive Minister, Eduardo Manalo, is playing safe. He had chosen the one leading by wide margin in surveys in order not to be shared by the inevitable results of the coming May 10 elections. Very clever... shall I say cunning.
[I would like to thank you for your willingness to help me learn more on apologetics. However, I live in Cavite; and I am regretful that it is only in the Internet that we could exchange our thoughts....]
For the meantine we can work it out online. Then later we can meet or visit each other if possible and I will invite you if you are free to be introduced to DFF apologists.
[Anyway, this is my email address: ------------]
GOT IT BROTHER.
[I am really grateful that I have an online friend like you whom I can declare as a "veteran" in this field of the Faith.]
I am most grateful that an intelligent young man like you is willing to defend our Catholic Faith and the Church.
[May God bless you!]
GOD BLESS YOU TOO.
Wow Fr. Abe how lucky you are, to have met Viel & Bam kasi dati sa tv lang natin sila nakikita, yes you're right Viel is very much like her mother, Tita Cory, & theres something holy about them & a true lady in all aspect. I also admired her in handling her children at napaka simple talaga.
ReplyDeleteWhile Bam is really lools like his uncle and very bright too. Sana in the near future , he will follows his political path. Our country really needs someone like him.
