The Sacred Images in Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Castilla, Sorsogon

The Patroness of the Parish, Our Lady of the Rosary

The Blessed Sacrament where the Consecrated Body of the Lord is kept inside every Parish of the Catholic Church. Here due to the ongoing renovation it is kept on a simple altar prepared for temporary use.
As I have reported in the earlier post, I went to Our Lady of the Rosary Parish in Castilla, Sorsogon [yeah, the one near the main road going to Manila] in order to borrow Mass kit after finding that San Rafael Chapel doesn't have one. It was my first time to enter and visit the parish.

When I arrived the parish priest, Fr. Joel Teruel, was not around. Instead, I was delightfully greeted and helped by the parish secretary and the two young seminarians assigned there for the summer. While the sems were preparing the Mass kit I decided to enter the parish to thank the Lord for His generosity and also to see the interior of the circular modelled Parish Church.
The Risen Lord
The Church was under major renovation. That is why it was a little bit a mess inside. But the Altar Table, the Celebrant's Chair, the Sacred Images and the Blessed Sacrament were moved to the right portion so that the Holy Mass can be celebrated and the parishioners be free to pray and worship the Lord.

I roamed around to check the Sacred Images. There is the Risen Lord, the Nazarene carrying the Cross, the Santo Intierro or the Sacred Corpse of the Lord, St. Joseph, Our Lady the Patroness in elegant white and blue, but the one that touched me most was Mater Dolorosa. It was so beautiful and elegant and the expression on her face was really so touching.

A closer look at the Mater Dolorosa or The Sorrowful Mother. This is the artistic representation of the Blessed Mother at the foot of the Cross. She was deeply sorrowing, in great pain but she was so noble in her loss and full of faith as well as hope in her despair. The purple and pink garments added dignity and nobility to her bearing.
