New Somascan Novices for 2010 in India

On 24 May 2010 at 7 p.m., in the chapel of the Premalaya Centre, Bangalore, five postulants of Indian citizenship: Patrick, Vasanth, Navis, Matthew, Joseph, started their Novitiate year with the rite of entrustment to the Novice Master, who, for this specific case and on a provisional basis, was Fr Prabhakar Madanu.The solution is to be considered provisional because the 5 young men were expected to start the Novitiate year in the Novitiate house of Thannamunai, Sri Lanka, but despite having submitted application more than 6 months ago, they are still waiting for their passport to be released, in order to be allowed to leave the country. For this reason the Superiors, hoping that the passports will soon be released, have deemed it suitable to resort to this solution, which will hopefully have only a temporary effect.
