CELEBRATING THE TRIDENTINE LATIN MASS [TLM] IN JALEVILLE, PARAÑAQUE

Last July 12, 2010 Sunday we went to Jaleville, Paranaque to celebrate the TLM Holy Mass due to the invitation of Bro. Caloy Palad. For more than a year Bro. Caloy was inviting me repeatedly to celebrate TLM here but I continuously turned down the offer because of lack of opportunity. Until finally, I got the chance to do so since I am free that day and I had to go to Alabang to bring some documents.

And so before going to Alabang I decided to take the 9:00am Latin Mass. Albert, Bob and I left home at about 6:30 hoping that we are on time. Unfortunately, a truck was stuck on a road not far from home and so we have to take the long winding alternate route. In effect, we lost 30 minutes and arrived at Pasay MRT station to fetch Bro. Caloy at almost 9:00am.

When we arrived in Jaleville the worshippers were ready and patient. I was glad to see Bro. Miguel Madarang and Bro. Richard Friend. He helped me invest myself and the Mass went on smoothly except for some occasions when I had to inquire on Bro. Carlos. I was very careful because Bros. Caloy, Miguel and Richard are well versed in TLM rubrics and theology.

It was the 7th Sunday after Pentecost in TLM Liturgical Calendar and I got to wear the same vestments formerly used in TLM St. Jerome Parish in Alabang with the same silver candelabra also.

After the Mass some boys asked for Confession and Bro. Richard treated us to Max Restaurant where we enjoyed sharing about the Liturgy, about the Faith and the situation of the Church locally and internationally.

Then we proceeded to St. Jerome Emiliani Parish where I gave the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick to one of Bro. Richard's son and then proceeded to San Juan de Dios Hospital where I also anointed and prayed over the dearest Mother of Bro. Miguel.

Before we separated Bro. Caloy whispered to me: "Fr. Abe, you have a very bountiful Sunday today." Indeed, it was. The Latin Mass and the Anointing for two wonderful souls. What a blessing it was for me as a shepherd of souls.
