The Bishops of the Catholic Church gathered during the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council
Dear Father Abe,
Greetings of Peace of the Risen Lord!
I have come across some people who are attached with the extraordinary form of the Roman Missal. I must also admit that its rites and prayers are beautiful though I have not personally attended the missal according the Reforms done by Blessed John XXIII.
In our city here in Davao, I have not known any priest who celebrate the mass according to the 1962. However, I heard a news that the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X/ SSPX exist here and that celebrating mass according to the extraordinary form. We know that their founder, Bishop Lefebvre, was an opposition of the council and made a terrible action when he ordained bishop without the mandate of the Servant of God John Paul II. Much of his followers today are still in opposition with the decrees of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council claiming that the Council's decrees were not compatible with the teachings of the earlier popes and Ecumenical council like the council of Trent and the 1970 missal are of protestant one.
Now my dear Father, what really disturbed me most is that some faithful are supporting the fraternity as well as their teachings. Worse, some of them are going too much to the point they deny the validity of the men who sat at the throne of Peter during and after the Vatican II. A website in youtube that accuses the Bishops of Rome (especially Paul VI) of heresy can be seen in this link:
However they claim that they do not depart from Rome thus not schismatic.
My questions now father is this, are they still part of the Catholic Church even they defy the Ecumenical council? Its there truth in what they claim that the Novus Ordo missal is invalid and a protestant one? Is there truth in what they claim The decrees of the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council are contradictory to the earlier teachings of Popes and Ecumenical council?

Those who DEFY the Ecumenical Council and are rejecting the Authority of the Pope are not Catholics they are HERETICS and SCHISMATICS. The Lord Jesus gave us the Pope to be our Universal Shepherd that will protect us from heresy and disunity. Those who do not accept the Pope are not Catholics. They have violated Matthew 16:18-19 and the Dogma of the Infallibility of the Pope.

The Novus Ordo Mass is valid. It is Catholic from beginning to end. All its content are taken actually from the Tridentine Latin Mass. NO PROTESTANT SECT IS CELEBRATING THE NOVUS ORDO THAT IS WHY THE CLAIM THAT THE NOVUS ORDO IS PROTESTANT IS ILLOGICAL AND UNFOUNDED IN REALITY. Actually, I have a collection of books of Former Protestant Pastors who became Catholic such as Rome Sweet Home of Dr. Scott Hahn and Crossing the Tiber by Stephen K. Ray. Both of them became Catholic through Novus Ordo Masses. They cried after attending the Novus Ordo because it is so different from the service of the Protestants.

DEFINITELY NOT. The Council preserves all the Dogmas and Doctrines of the Church. Actually it even explains better the truth of the faith. DO NOT BELIEVE THE LIES OF SOME SSPX MEMBERS WHO TRY TO MAKE THEMSELVES SELF-PROCLAIMED POPES. I do not recognize their authority. My loyalty is to the True Pope not to that POPELESS SOCIETY.
Being a Catholic Apologist I usually debate Protestants. And I never encountered a single Protestant who is fond of Novus Ordo Mass. They are anti-Novus Ordo. SO THE SSPX IS MORE PROTESTANT THAN CATHOLICS. THEY ARE LYING ABOUT NOVUS ORDO. THE PROTESTANTS ARE ANGRY AT THE POPES, THE SSPX ARE ANGRY AT POPES: JOHN XXIII, PAUL VI, JOHN PAUL I, JOHN PAUL II AND BENEDICT XVI. Theyare disobedient lot. GO AWAY FROM THEM. THEY ARE LIARS.
ON THE OTHER HAND, THERE ARE SSPX WHO ARE ACCEPTING THE POPE AND HIS AUTHORITY. THEIR QUESTIONS ON VATICAN II ARE VALID AND NOT REBELLIOUS. THEY ALSO ACCEPT THE VALIDITY OF NOVUS ORDO. THESE PEOPLE ARE OF COURSE STILL CATHOLICS.

Subalit, nung magkatawang tao ang Dios Anak siya ay naging Tao at nagkaroon ng laman at buto. Siya ang ating Panginoong Jesu-Cristo at pinili niyang maging LALAKI. Kaya tama din si Bro. Cenon. Isa pa, ang tawag ni Jesus sa Dios ay AMA at hindi Ina. May instances na ang term na mother ay ginagamit sa Dios sa Lumang Tipan tulad ng paghahambing sa kanya sa "mother eagle". Pero yon ay analogical language lamang. The title 'Father' is truly belonging to the Essence of God as Creator and Provider. In that sense, lalaki ang Dios.

ReplyDeleteThe Anglicans, Lutherans and Methodists patterned their worship originally from the Latin Mass. They just removed some elements distinctly Catholic in their worship. And when the Roman Catholic Church promulgated the Novus Ordo they also imitated it.
The Catholic Church didn't borrow from the Protestants. They are the ones who borrowed from us.
The Novus Ordo is obviously and practically a synthesized version of TLM. Thus, the root and origin of Novus Ordo is the TLM.

IT SHOWS THE BIBLICAL FOUNDATION OF OUR CATHOLIC MASS WHEREIN THE BOOK OF THE GOSPEL IS PLACED ON THE TABLE DURING THE LITURGY OF THE WORD. THIS IS ALSO ROOTED IN CATHOLIC TRADITION DURING COUNCILS AND SYNODS WHEREIN THE BOOK OF THE GOSPEL IS BEING ENTHRONED ON THE ALTAR.
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IS LIVING THIS HEAVENLY LITURGY THROUGH HERE LITURGY HERE ON EARTH. THUS OUR MASS IS HEAVEN ON EARTH. THE CHURCH IS OUR SACRAMENT OF UNITY WITH GOD:
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of the throne saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he shall dwell with them, and they shall be his peoples, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God:
IT IS SIGNIFICANT THAT IN NOVUS ORDO THAT THE THRONE IS ON HIGH AND AT THE CENTER BECAUSE WE BELIEVE THAT THE GRACES OF GOD FLOWS FROM HIS THRONE AND WE EXPRESSED IT IN THE LITURGY BY SHOWING THAT THE CHURCH, REPRESENTED BY THE MINISTER, IS THE SACRAMENT FROM WHICH ALL SACRAMENTAL GRACES FLOWS:
Rev 22:1 And he shewed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb,
THEREFORE, DON'T BELIEVE THOSE WHO TRY TO PUT MALICE AGAINST THE NOVUS ORDO, CLAIMING THAT IT WAS PATTERNED AFTER THE PROTESTANT WORSHIP. THERE IS NOTHING FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH BECAUSE PROTESTANTS HATE THE NOVUS ORDO MASS TOGETHER WITH THE SEDEVACANTISTS AND THE ANTI POPES SUPPORTERS OF SSPX.
OUR NOVUS ORDO IS TAKEN FROM THE TRIDENTINE LATIN MASS. THE NON ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS WERE REMOVED. IT WAS SIMPLIFIED AND INCORPORATED INTO IT BIBLICAL CONCEPTS WHICH ARE ALSO PART OF THE SACRED TRADITION OF THE CHURCH.
THE NOVUS ORDO IS TRULY ROMAN CATHOLIC IN FACT AND IN ESSENCE.
