DEFENDING THE BLESSEDNESS OF MARY AND THE UNIQUENESS OF HER FAITH AGAINST A DATING DAAN MEMBER Part 1

The Annunciation by Federico Barroci c.1592
jc said...

we are not anti-catholic...we are anti-catholic docrines....its your docrines we refuted not the members...I'm an MCGI member.

with this I would like to comment with Mr. Abe's statement above quoted as:

"The Church being the Body of Christ is greater than Mary because Mary is a member of the Church. But she is the most Blessed of the members of the Church except the Lord Jesus its Head and Builder."

Bible said:

(Luk 11:27) And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

(Luk 11:28) But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Is not these people refered by Jesus are more blessed than Mary?

And these?

(Joh 20:27) Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

(Joh 20:28) And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

(Joh 20:29) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Those who spent times with Lord jesus were blessed, but those who believed Him and have not seen Him yet are more blessed according to Him.

Thanks for posting.

HOW NICE OF YOU.

[with this I would like to comment with Mr. Abe's statement above quoted as:

"The Church being the Body of Christ is greater than Mary because Mary is a member of the Church. But she is the most Blessed of the members of the Church except the Lord Jesus its Head and Builder."]

WELL, WHAT CAN YOU SAY TO THAT? YOU DIDN'T PRESENT A CLEAR REBUTTAL OF WHAT I HAVE STATED.

[Bible said:

(Luk 11:27) And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked.

(Luk 11:28) But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Is not these people refered by Jesus are more blessed than Mary?]

HA, HA, HA... JESUS DIDN'T SAY THAT THOSE PEOPLE ARE MORE BLESSED THAN MARY. THE BIBLE SAYS THAT MARY IS BLESSED BUT THOSE PEOPLE ARE NOT MENTIONED CATEGORICALLY, SPECIFICALLY AS BLESSED THE WAY IT DID TO MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS.

This is what the Angel Gabriel proclaimed:

Luke 1:28 "And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: BLESSED ART THOU among women."

FOR SURE, MARY IS MORE BLESSED THAN THE WOMEN PRESENT IN THE CROWD. AND THE ANGEL GABRIEL IS SUPPORTED ALL THE MORE BY ELIZABETH, THE MOTHER OF JOHN THE BAPTIZER:

Luke 1:42 "And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, BLESSED ART THOU among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb."

SO, MARY IS REPEATEDLY PROCLAIMED AS BLESSED, ONE BY A CREATURE FROM HEAVEN - A MESSENGER OF GOD NO LESS AND THE OTHER A JUST WOMAN IN JUDEA.

MUCH MORE, THE STATEMENT OF THE LORD IS NOT A REFUTATION OF MARY BUT RATHER A GREATER EXALTATION OF MARY BECAUSE MARY DIDN'T JUST CONCEIVED AND GAVE BIRTH AND BREAST-FED JESUS BUT SHE ALSO BELIEVED JESUS:

Luke 11:28 "But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it."

AND THIS:

Luke 1:45 "And BLESSED IS SHE THAT BELIEVED: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord."

MARY 'BELIEVED' THE WORD OF GOD. SHE BELIEVED THE ANGEL OF THE LORD:

Luke 1:38 "And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her."

UNLIKE ZECHARIAH WHO WAS PUNISHED FOR HIS FAILURE TO BELIEVE THE MESSAGE OF GOD [cf. Luke 1:20], MARY WAS INSTEAD EXALTED BY THE BIBLE AND BY ELIZABETH BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED THE WORD OF GOD. SHE EVEN DECLARED HERSELF A 'MAID-SERVANT OF GOD'. IF MARY DIDN'T BELIEVE SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN PUNISHED AS WELL.

IF MARY DIDN'T BELIEVE THEN THOSE IN THE CROWD ARE GREATER THAN HER BUT SHE BELIEVED AND NURSED JESUS SO SHE IS GREAT AND HONORED NOT ONLY IN THE EYES OF MEN BUT ALSO IN THE CRITERIA OF GOD.

[And these?

(Joh 20:27) Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing.

(Joh 20:28) And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

(Joh 20:29) Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Those who spent times with Lord jesus were blessed, but those who believed Him and have not seen Him yet are more blessed according to Him.]

HA, HA, HA... I FIND YOUR USE OF THESE BIBLICAL PASSAGES FOOLISH AND PATHETIC.

FIRST, YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT ALL THE APOSTLES INCLUDING ST. PAUL OF TARSUS BELIEVED IN JESUS BECAUSE THEY SAW HIM EITHER IN PERSON OR IN APPARITION AS IN THE CASE OF PAUL IN DAMASCUS. BUT MARY, BELIEVED IN JESUS WITHOUT SEEING HIM IN PERSON OR IN APPARITION. TAKE NOTE, IT WAS NOT JESUS WHO APPEARED TO MARY BUT THE ANGEL. HA, HA, HA... THE PASSAGES TO PROVE THAT ARE ALREADY GIVEN ABOVE.

ELIZABETH EXALTED MARY FOR BELIEVING. THAT TIME JESUS WAS NOT YET BORN AND WAS NOT YET SEEN BY MARY. HA, HA, HA...

SECOND, MARY IS ACTUALLY THE FIRST BELIEVER. SHE IS EVEN AHEAD OF ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST IN BELIEVING.

THIRD, MARY IS THE MOST STEADFAST IN FAITH. HER FAITH IS GREATER EVEN THAN THE APOSTLES WHO WERE SOMETIMES LACKING IN FAITH, WEAK IN FAITH OR ABANDONING THE LORD. MARY WAS CONSTANT IN HER BELIEF EVEN ON THE FOOT OF THE CROSS.

SO, BETWEEN MAMA MARY AND MAMA ELI SORIANO YOUR BELOVED PREACHER IS A PIECE OF GARBAGE IN COMPARISON WITH MARY WHO IS WORD FOR WORD, CATEGORICALLY, DIRECTLY, SPECIFICALLY CHOSEN BY GOD AS SUPPORTED BY THE BIBLE AND REFERRED TO AS BLESSED.

MARY HAS NO SCANDALS IN THE HISTORY OF THE CHURCH BUT SHE GAVE AN EXAMPLE OF CONSTANT HOLINESS, HUMILITY AND FIDELITY. MAMA ELI IN CONTRAST IS IMPURE WITH HOMOSEXUAL RAPE CASE AND OTHER ALLEGATIONS OF IMMORALITIES THAT HE REFUSES TO CONFRONT DIRECTLY. HE PREFERS TO HIDE AS AN ACT OF COWARDICE.

[Thanks for posting.]

YOU ARE WELCOME.

    thanks for asking.

what I am contesting is adding the word "MOST" as in most blessed to Mary, it is not Biblical.
I only found one verse in the Bible with word most blessed.

(Psa 21:6) For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

If Mary is living right now, She will not allowed these exaltation done for her. Who will we gonna exalth?

(Psa 99:5) Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.

(Psa 99:9) Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

(Psa 107:32) Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

(Psa 118:28) Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

  4. Faith and blessedness of Mary is not questionable. It is your (RCC) doctrine regarding Mary is refutable.

    1. Mary is the most blessed than other apostles and/or members of the church.

    Bible says:
(Luk 11:28) But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

    2. Mary is actually the first believer and most steadfast in faith.

    Bible says:

(Heb 11:1) Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

(Heb 11:4) By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

(Heb 11:5) By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

(Heb 11:6) But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

(Heb 11:7) By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

(Heb 11:8) By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

(Heb 11:9) By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

(Heb 11:10) For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

(Heb 11:11) Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

(Heb 11:12) Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as the sand which is by the sea shore innumerable.

(Heb 11:13) These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

(Heb 11:14) For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country.

(Heb 11:15) And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned.

(Heb 11:16) But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

(Heb 11:17) By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

(Heb 11:18) Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called:

(Heb 11:19) Accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead; from whence also he received him in a figure.

(Heb 11:20) By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.

    to be continued...

  5. continuation:

(Heb 11:21) By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.

(Heb 11:22) By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.

(Heb 11:23) By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.

    (Heb 11:24) By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter;

    (Heb 11:25) Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;

(Heb 11:26) Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

(Heb 11:27) By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

(Heb 11:28) Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.

(Heb 11:29) By faith they passed through the Red sea as by dry land: which the Egyptians assaying to do were drowned.

(Heb 11:30) By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they were compassed about seven days.

(Heb 11:31) By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

(Heb 11:32) And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:

(Heb 11:33) Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,

(Heb 11:34) Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

(Heb 11:35) Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:

(Heb 11:36) And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:

    (Heb 11:37) They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;

(Heb 11:38) (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.

(Heb 11:39) And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:

(Heb 11:40) God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.

And St. Paul who laboured more abundantly than other apostles by the grace of God with him.

(1Co 15:10) But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

And with Bro. Eli, on what all you have said to him:

(Mat 5:11) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

He (Bro.Eli) is blessed as well.

May God open your heart Mr. Abe and all the readers of this blog. If your objective in blogging is good, you will post all my comments as it is. Thanks be to God always.

This MCGI member is a verifiable liar when he categorically said that “None in the Bible “most blessed” has been said to anyone, except one” and quoted Psalm 21:6 for that. That is a BLATANT LIE!!! Let’s prove from the Bible that “most blessed” is also used to refer to Mary. Let us read LUKE 1:42 of the JERUSALEM BIBLE:

“She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the MOST BLESSED, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.”

TIKLO! Huling-huli sa pagsisinungaling. Pero may palusot pa iyan. Hindi niya alam. what I am contesting is adding the word "MOST" as in most blessed to Mary, it is not Biblical.

[Let us check first what Fr. Arganiosa stated before we consider your misguided argument. "The Church being the Body of Christ is greater than Mary because Mary is a member of the Church. But she is the MOST BLESSED OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH except the Lord Jesus its Head and Builder."

So what is wrong with that? Father Abe is just using the basic and elementary rules of GRAMMAR which you failed to appreciate, much less understand. Fr. Abe used the superlative “most bless” to Mary only in her relationship with the members of the Church.

There was no intimation whatsoever that the use of “most blessed” to Mary includes God or the Lord Jesus Christ. As Fr. Abe himself made clear, Mary is “most blessed” of the members of the Church, EXCEPT the Lord Jesus its Head and Builder.

It is you who put ideas where there is none. Sorry, we don’t Mary more blessed than God, or most blessed of all, including God. There is just no such statement or claim. It just probably exists in your malicious and biased mind. What entered your mind to ever think that we claim that Mary surpasses God in blessedness? There is just no basis for it gauging from Fr. Abe’s statements which all readers here can see and judge. ]

I only found one verse in the Bible with word most blessed.

(Psa 21:6) For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

[Your verse is already irrelevant and inconsequential as it is clear for those who can understand English grammar that it was not – never!- the intention of Fr. Abe to put Mary’s blessedness above God. How can that be? God has blessedness in Himself – and the source of all blessedness, Mary’s included.

As a friendly advice to you sister, better read and understand first before you attack. “Yet these men speak abusively against whatever they do not understand; and what things they do understand by instinct, like unreasoning animals--these are the very things that destroy them” (Jude 10).

I WILL REPEAT HERE WHAT FR. ABE STATED FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND IT BETTER AFTER HAVING REVIEWED YOUR RULES ON ENGLISH GRAMMAR: "The Church being the Body of Christ is greater than Mary because Mary is a member of the Church. But she is the MOST BLESSED OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH except the Lord Jesus its Head and Builder."]

[There are no problems with your verses. In fact, we Catholics do that perfectly. We exalt God for Who He is – GOD, period. Mary, too, said that her soul magnifies the Lord (Lk.1:46).

Your problem here is that you are committing the fallacy of FALSE DILEMMA. Just because we exalt God we should not longer exalt those people whom God exalted?

Let us READ and UNDERSTAND what GOD’S HOLY WORD says:

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be EXALTED” (Lk. 14:11). You see, it is the LORD JESUS HIMSELF speaking here! And who are you to oppose Him? You are not following the law of Christ! God surely EXALTS those who are humble. That’s why Mary is EXALTED because she is humble. As she herself said: “for He has been mindful of the HUMBLE state of his servant, from now on all generations will call me BLESSED” (Lk. 1:47). Isn’t that self-explanatory? Why can’t you get it?

Here’s another verse. Also from Mary herself. “He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and EXALTED those of low degree” (Lk. 1:52).

We exalt Mary because God exalted her. And we Catholics are true to Scripture: “Be IMITATORS of God, therefore, as dearly loved children” (Eph. 5:1).]

You already faltered on several Biblical grounds and the nerve to pontificate on what a real Christian is? Yes, a real Christian follows the law of Christ, no more, and no less. In that regard, you are not a real Christian because you stumbled on His Word,

“For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be EXALTED” (Lk. 14:11). God exalts people, especially the humble. And Mary is a humble woman EXALTED by God. And we follow God’s lead in that. You don’t.

In fact, in Luke 11:28 elevates Mary’s blessedness not because of her being Jesus mother but because she heard the word of God and keep it. “And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word” (Lk. 1:38).]

Ang sabi ng Panginoong Jesus sa mga tunay na alagad na inuusig, The Bible says, “But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake. This will be a time for you to bear testimony. Settle it therefore in your minds, not to meditate beforehand how to answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and kinsmen and friends, and some of you they will put to death; you will be hated by all for my name's sake” (Lk. 21:12-17). Hindi ito kinakitaan kay Blessed Eliseo Soriano mo.

May God open your heart Mr. Abe and all the readers of this blog.
[Our heart is open to God. Unlike you, a blind follower and believer in Blessed Eliseo Soriano. “This is what the LORD says: "Cursed is the one who trusts in man” (Jer. 17:5).
If your objective in blogging is good, you will post all my comments as it is. Thanks be to God always.
[Our objective in blogging is good that’s why we post all your comments are they are – with bonus, our answers! Don’t be malicious in thinking that we don’t post your comments. They are even placed in the main wall. “Walang katutubong pagibig, mga walang paglulubag, mga PALABINTANGIN, mga walang pagpipigil sa sarili, mga mabangis, hindi mga maibigin sa mabuti” (2 Tim 3:3).]
