Yes, pwede po iyon. Walang masama duon. Nasa discretion ng pari kung gusto nyang ibahagi ang alak sa mga tao lalo na sa mga maysakit na tulad ng mga mental patient.
Kasi nga kung papainumin nya sila sa Chalice baka matapon. Kaya i dip na lang.

Ang awit na Amazing Grace bagamat composed ng isang Protestante ay isang spiritual song of gratitude to God by one person who was formerly a sinner but converted by the grace of the Lord.

ReplyDeleteI hear this occassionally in parishes in the U.S., and when I do I cringe a bit. Undoubtedly the song is hauntingly beautiful, but I have reservations regarding "How precious did that grace appear/the hour I first believed". Michelle Arnold of Catholic Answers expresses my sentiments very well, so I will quote him:
"This can be reconciled with Catholic teaching because the grace of conversion can indeed be given at certain hours, causing a person to repent of a previously sinful life. However, the lyrics can be problematic because they also can be understood in a manner that makes receiving grace dependent upon belief. Catholics believe that supernatural grace can be received even by those incapable of belief, such as infants at baptism. Unless a Catholic understands how the lyrics can be reconciled to Catholicism, the lyrics can be ambiguous and confusing."
Properly understood, the song is not inconsistent with Catholic teaching, but given the dismal state of catechesis among the faithful, it is possible that some will interpret this incorrectly and draw the wrong conclusion.
Why did the Pope (John Paul II) kissed the Koran? Is he recognizing the legitimacy of the Koran and all the teachings contained therein.? I can't find any justifiable reason about what he did. It was a very shameful thing and a slap on the Church as the true Church of Jesus. Another mistaken move in the name of extreme and false ecumenism! Ecumenism means inviting all people to the unity of the Catholic Faith not compromising the truths of the Faith for the sake of superficial unity!
ReplyDeleteEven the hymn "How Great Thou Art" was of Protestant origin; yet Susan Boyle, which is a Catholic, sung it in the presence of the Pope in his recently concluded State and Apostolic Visit to Britain....
ReplyDeleteNOT EVERYTHING PROTESTANT IS EVIL. FOR INSTANCE, THE COMPUTER FROM MICROSOFT OR THEIR SOFTWARES ARE PROTESTANT OR ATHEISTS MADE. YET WE USE IT FOR THE GLORY OF GOOD AND FOR THE GOOD OF THE CHURCH.
ReplyDelete[Why did the Pope (John Paul II) kissed the Koran?]
ReplyDeleteBECAUSE IT WAS OFFERED TO HIM TO BE KISSED. IF HE REFUSED HE WOULD HAVE INSULTED HIS HOSTS. THE POPE DID IT AS A SIGN OF RESPECT TO THE MOSLEMS WHO LOVE THAT BOOK BUT OF COURSE, THE MOSLEMS KNOW THAT THE POPE DOES NOT BELIEVE IN THE KORAN.
[Is he recognizing the legitimacy of the Koran and all the teachings contained therein.?]
DEFINITELY NOT.
THE POPE WENT TO THE COUNTRY HE WAS VISITING THEN TO STRENGTHEN THE FAITH OF THE CATHOLICS. BESIDES THE POPE WEARS THE CROSS AND HIS VERY PERSON IS A MANIFESTATION OF THE CATHOLIC FAITH.
THE POPE ENGAGED THE MOSLEMS IN DIALOGUES BECAUSE THAT IS THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO LESSEN THE TENSIONS BETWEEN THE TWO PEOPLES AND TO SHOW HIS GOODWILL. LIKE THE LORD JESUS WHO SPEAKS WITH THE SAMARITANS OR THE PHARISEES OR THE MEMBERS OF THE SANHEDRIN THE POPE IS ALSO ENGAGING IN DIALOGUE WITH OTHERS... UNLIKE LEFEBVRE WHO WAS USELESS AND NEVER FACED ISLAM.
IF THE SSPX ARE AGAINST ISLAM THEN LET THEM FACE THE MOSLEMS FAIRLY AND SQUARELY AND REJECT THE KORAN RIGHT ON THEIR FACES. LET ME SEE IF THEY HAVE THE COURAGE TO DO SO.
[I can't find any justifiable reason about what he did.]
YOU CANT FIND ANY JUSTIFICATION FOR IT BECAUSE THERE IS NO LOVE IN YOUR HEART AND YOU ARE NOT IN THE POSITION OF THE POPE WHO WANTED TO END WARS BETWEEN THE TWO PEOPLES.
THE SSPX ARE ONLY GOOD IN SOWING HATE BUT A FAILURE IN UNDERSTANDING ACTS OF LOVE AND GENEROSITY. THEY ARE ALWAYS BITTER IN ECUMENISM, IN LITURGY... IN EVERYTHING. THEY ARE THE MODERN DAY PHARISEES WHO DO NOT RECOGNIZE ANY GOOD IN OTHERS EXCEPT WHAT THEY THINK IS RIGHT.
THE JUSTIFICATION FOR THAT ACT IS THE DIVINE COMMAND OF "LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR". IF YOUR FRIENDS LOVE A BOOK SO MUCH THAT THEY CONSIDER IT SACRED, THEN AT LEAST OUT OF FRIENDSHIP SHOW RESPECT ON THAT BOOK, OR HIS SHOES, OR HIS MOTHER, OR HIS GARDEN... EVERYTHING THAT YOUR FRIENDS LOVE YOU WILL LOVE EVEN THOUGH IN MANY OCCASIONS YOU DISAGREE WITH THOSE THINGS...
[It was a very shameful thing and a slap on the Church as the true Church of Jesus.]
ReplyDeleteIT WAS NOT SHAMEFUL. IT WAS A FRIENDLY GESTURE, A MANIFESTATION OF RESPECT OF OTHERS. DEFINITELY IT WAS NOT A SLAP ON THE CHURCH BECAUSE JOHN PAUL THE GREAT ENERGIZED THE CHURCH AND STRENGTHENED IT MORE THAN YOU DO.
ARE YOU AWARE THAT UNDER THE DYNAMIC LEADERSHIP OF JOHN PAUL THE GREAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH INCREASED BY MORE THAN 100 MILLION IN AFRICA AND WE DEFEATED THE MOSLEMS IN NUMBER OF CONVERSIONS IN THAT CONTINENT?
AFTER THE GULF WARS IT WAS EASY FOR THE MOSLEMS TO DECLARE WAR AGAINST THE CATHOLIC CHURCH BUT THROUGH THE ECUMENICAL EFFORTS OF POPE JOHN PAUL THE GREAT THE TENSION DIDN'T TURN INTO A FULL CLASH OF TWO RELIGIONS.
JOHN PAUL THE GREAT DID THAT WHILE THE SSPX LEADERSHIP WERE SILENT AND USELESS.
[Another mistaken move in the name of extreme and false ecumenism!]
THE FALSE ECUMENISM IS REFUSAL OF DIALOGUE. THAT IS NOT CATHOLIC THAT IS SATANIC. THAT IS INHUMAN.
THE SSPX AND THE ULTRA TRADITIONALS ARE ANGRY AT THAT BECAUSE THE POPE SHOWED TOO MUCH GOODWILL. A KIND OF GOODWILL THAT IS ABSENT IN THEIR HEARTS.
[Ecumenism means inviting all people to the unity of the Catholic Faith not compromising the truths of the Faith for the sake of superficial unity!]
THE POPE NEVER COMPROMISED. NEVER EVER. SHOWING KINDNESS IS NOT COMPROMISING. IT IS CALLED 'CHARITY' AND IT COMES FROM THE THEOLOGY OF THE CROSS.
BESIDES, JOHN PAUL II CONVERTED MORE PEOPLE TO THE CATHOLIC FAITH MORE THAN THE EXCOMMUNICATED DEVIL LEFEBVRE.
READ THE CONVERSION STORIES OF FORMER PROTESTANTS AND ATHEISTS WHO CONVERTED TO THE FAITH THEY SHOWER JOHN PAUL THE GREAT WITH PRAISES AND GRATITUDE FOR HELPING THEM FIND THE TRUTH IN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH.
YOU ARE IGNORANT OF THAT BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT READING THE CONVERSION STORIES OF HUNDREDS AND EVEN THOUSANDS OF PROTESTANT MINISTERS AND PASTORS CONVERTING TO THE CHURCH. YOU ONLY LOOK AT THE PROBLEMS OF THE CHURCH AND BLAME IT ON THE POPE EXCEPT YOURSELVES.
THANK GOD FOR JOHN PAUL THE GREAT. JOHN PAUL II WE LOVE YOU! JOHN PAUL II WE LOVE YOU! JOHN PAUL II WE LOVE YOU!
VIVA EL PAPA! DOWN WITH THE SSPX ANIMALS - HERETICS AND SCHISMATICS.
Dear Brother Richard,
ReplyDeleteI understand your opinion on the matter but I do believe that the song is not contrary to the Catholic Faith. No Protestant Dogma is inserted therein. Besides, the Catholic Church also has a theology of grace and we believe that it is by Grace that God saves and justifies us through FAITH AND GOOD WORKS and NOT BY FAITH ALONE.
I don't think that FAITH ALONE is given in the lyrics of the song.
