Dormition of Mary in Medieval Art. Here the Apostles were shown not only venerating her body but also praying for the Eternal Repose of her soul even though they knew that she is the holiest of them all.
Father good pm ask ko lang po di yung mga nasa heaven they do not need yung prayers natin and also yung nasa hell kasi wala ng magagawa sa kanila yun. question is pano tayo makakasure na yung pinag pray natin is wala sa hell and if ever na nasa hell sya meanig to say sayang lang yung pagdarasal natin sa kanya? and how we can know na yung tao na pinag pray natin is wala na sa purgatory? thanks God bless

WE DON'T NEED TO BE SURE WHERE THEY ARE. WE ARE PRAYING TO GOD WHO KNOWS THE TRUTH. IF THE SOUL IS IN HELL THEN OUR PRAYER IS EFFECTIVE NOT FOR THAT SOUL IN HELL BUT FOR OUR SOUL WHO IS GENEROUS IN PRAYING FOR THE DEAD. THE SAME FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN HEAVEN. OUR PRAYER FOR THEM WILL NO LONGER BE NECESSARY FOR THEM BUT GOD WILL LOOK AT IT AS A MANIFESTATION OF OUR CHRISTIAN CHARITY... OF OUR LOVE FOR NEIGHBOR. THUS, IN BOTH CASES IT WILL BE BENEFICIAL FOR OUR SOUL ALSO. IF THE SOUL IS IN PURGATORY OUR PRAYER WILL BE EFFICACIOUS FOR THAT SOUL AND EFFICACIOUS FOR OUR SOUL ALSO SINCE WE ARE DOING ACTS OF CHARITY.

nicely put i now understand hehe ignorante pa kasi ako sa ibang catholic teachings, this is a big help:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Bro. Gregor. Praise Him.
ReplyDeleteSaan po ba nakalagay sa Bible ang tungkol sa purgatoryo? hindi po ba mas importante ipag pray ang soul ng living kesa dead? once a person died he/she is immediately judged, if he accepted Christ as personal Lord and Saviour and obeyed God he will go to heaven but if not he will be in hell.. ano po ang part ng purgatoryo dun kung meron mang purgatoryo..
ReplyDeleteif a salvation (being saved) depends on acts of charity, what happen to Salvation by God's grace? u mean to say, walng halaga ang pagkamatay ni Kristo sa krus, upang tubusin tayo sa kasalanan kung pwede naman pala tyo ma saved by "acts of charity"?It seems ur contradicting the Bible. Good works will never get you to heaven,But good work should be the result of ur intimate relationship to God.
ReplyDelete[if a salvation (being saved) depends on acts of charity, what happen to Salvation by God's grace?]
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA... OBVIOUSLY YOU ARE NOT AWARE OF THE FACT THAT CHARITY AS A VIRTUE AND THE CAPACITY TO DO ACTS OF CHARITY BY THE BELIEVERS ARE THEMSELVES GOD'S GRACE. GOOD WORKS OUTSIDE GRACE IS NOT SALVIFIC BUT GOOD WORKS UNDER GRACE IS SALVIFIC.
[u mean to say, walng halaga ang pagkamatay ni Kristo sa krus, upang tubusin tayo sa kasalanan kung pwede naman pala tyo ma saved by "acts of charity"?]
HA HA HA... ANOTHER STUPID CLAIM. WHY? BECAUSE WE DO NOT TEACH THAT WE ARE SAVED BY ACTS OF CHARITY ALONE. OUR TEACHING IS THAT ACTS OF CHARITY MUST BE DONE TOGETHER WITH FAITH. FOR THAT REASON OUR FORMULA IS FAITH AND GOOD WORKS. WHILE YOUR CAMP STUPIDLY CLAIM JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH ALONE WHICH IS CATEGORICALLY REJECTED BY THE BIBLE:
James 2:24 "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and NOT BY FAITH ONLY."
SEE, THERE ARE WORKS THAT LEAD TO JUSTIFICATION FOR A BELIEVER AND THAT THE DEMONIC FORMULA INVENTED BY MARTIN LUTHER "FAITH ALONE" IS DIRECTLY, EXPLICITLY AND CATEGORICALLY REJECTED BY THE BIBLE.
WHERE DID THE BIBLE TEACH THAT SINCE JESUS DIED ON THE CROSS THE CHRISTIAN BELIEVERS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO DO ACTS OF CHARITY? WHERE? CHAPTER AND VERSE PLEASE.
[It seems ur contradicting the Bible.]
WE ARE NOT CONTRADICTING THE BIBLE, YOU ARE THE ONE CONTRADICTING IT. JESUS IS VERY CATEGORICAL ABOUT THE NEED FOR THE BELIEVERS TO DO THE WILL OF GOD:
Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven.
SEE, THE MASTER TAUGHT THAT IT IS NOT ENOUGH TO ACCEPT JESUS OR CALL HIM AS LORD. FAITH IS NOT ENOUGH. ONE MUST "DO" THE WILL OF GOD. THAT IS FAITH + GOOD WORKS.
Matthew 19:16-18 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
SEE, WHEN THE MASTER WAS ASKED ABOUT THE REQUIREMENT FOR ETERNAL LIFE HE DIDN'T SAY: "BELIEVE ONLY" "FAITH ALONE". O NO, NO, NO... HE INSTEAD ENNUMERATED THE COMMANDMENTS WHICH IS DOING GOOD AS WILLED BY GOD. NO FAITH ALONE. ITS FAITH + GOOD WORKS.
[Good works will never get you to heaven,]
YOU FOOL, THAT IS NOT WHAT THE LORD TAUGHT US. JESUS TAUGHT US THAT THOSE WHO GIVE FOOD TO THE HUNGRY OR GIVE DRINKS TO THE THIRSTY AND CLOTHE THE NAKED... SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN:
Matthew 25:34-40 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
SEE, YOU PRETEND TO BE GREATER THAN JESUS WHO SAID THAT THOSE WHO DO WORKS OF CHARITIES SHALL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
LIAR, LIAR, LIAR!!!
[But good work should be the result of ur intimate relationship to God.]
ReplyDeleteGOOD WORKS ARE GRACE OF GOD TOGETHER WITH FAITH. THAT IS WHY ST. PAUL SAYS THAT THERE ARE THREE THINGS THAT LASTS: "FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY... AND THE GREATEST IS NOT FAITH BUT CHARITY" [cf. 1 Corinthians 13:13]. CHARITY IS SO GREAT THAT EVEN IF ONE HAS FAITH IF THERE IS NO CHARITY OR LOVE THE PERSON IS NOTHING:
1 Corinthians 13:2 "...and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing."
FAITH WITHOUT CHARITY IS NOTHING. THAT IS WHY FAITH ALONE IS DEMONIC, SATANIC AND HERETICAL. YOU WILL GO TO HELL FOR YOUR FAITH ALONE.
IF CHARITY IS THE RESULT OF FAITH THEN ALL THOSE WHO HAVE FAITH MUST ALSO HAVE CHARITY. BUT ST. PAUL SAYS THAT ONE CAN HAVE GREAT FAITH BUT DO NOT HAVE CHARITY. SO, THE TWO MUST GO TOGETHER: FAITH + GOOD WORKS.
GOOD WORKS IS ESSENTIAL BECAUSE GOD WILL JUDGE US NOT BY FAITH BUT BY GOOD WORKS. THIS IS VERY CLEAR IN THE BIBLE FROM OLD TO NEW TESTAMENTS:
1 Kings 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)
Psalm 28:4-5 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.
Psalm 31:23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
Jer 17:10 I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Mt 16:27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
1 Cor 3:8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.
Heb 2:2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;
Rev 2:23 And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
SO THEN, FROM OLD TO NEW TESTAMENTS FROM ST. MATTHEW, ST. PAUL, ST. PETER AND ST. JOHN'S WRITINGS... MAN SHALL BE RENDERED JUDGMENT ACCORDING TO WHAT HE HAS DONE. GOOD WORKS SHALL BE REWARDED BUT EVIL WORKS SHALL BE PUNISHED.
YOUR FAITH ALONE IS DEMONIC, SATANIC AND HERETICAL.
