SA PAGANO BA ANG OBELISK NG CATHOLIC CHURCH SA ROME?

The Obelisk at St. Peter's Square is clearly free of hierographs of Egyptian gods and goddesses.
The Obelisk at the center of St. Peter's Square. It is put right on the spot where St. Peter the Apostle was martyred for the faith by crucifixion.

ANG OBELISK AY ISANG BATONG MONUMENTO LANG. ITO AY NAGIGING PAGANO LAMANG DAHIL SA MGA LARAWAN NA NAKAUKIT DITO NA NAGBIBIGAY DANGAL SA MGA DIOS DIOSANG PAGANO O KAYA SA REBULTONG PAGANO SA TUKTOK NITO.

ANG OBELISK NATIN SA ROME AY WALANG NAKA-UKIT NA LARAWAN NG DIOS-DIOSAN NG MGA PAGANO. ANG NAKALAGAY SA TUKTOK AY KRUS NA SAGISAG NG PAGLILIGTAS NI CRISTO. KAYA NGA DINALA SA ROMA ANG OBELISK NA NASA ST. PETER SQUARE PARA IPA-MUKA NAG IGLESIA CATOLICA ANG VICTORY AND TRIUMPH OF CHRISTIANITY OVER PAGANISM. DAHIL ANG OBELISK NILA AY GINAWA LAMANG TUNTUNGAN NG KRUS NI CRISTO. CHRIST REIGNS VICTORIOUS OVER PAGAN DEITIES OF EGYPT, GREECE AND ROME.

I found a map which has the modern basilica of saint peter's with the outline of the formerly existing Circus MAximos which, according to history and tradition, Peter was crucified upside down. Basing on this map father it will be inaccurate to say that the current position of the Vatican obelisk's marks where Peter was crucified because it is within the circus' audience seat Here is the link of the map

  6. ST. PETER WAS NOT CRUCIFIED IN THE CIRCUS ARENA OR COLISEUM BUT ON VATICAN HILL. THAT IS WHY THE BASILICA IS ON VATICAN HILL. AND HE WAS ALSO BURIED IN THE NEARBY TOMB.

THE REASON WHY CATHOLICS ARE GOING TO VATICAN FOR CENTURIES BECAUSE PETER WAS MARTYRED AND BURIED THERE. NOT IN THE CIRCUS ARENA OR COLISEUM.

  7. According to national geographic he was brought to the imperial circus:

"But early Christians were often persecuted for their beliefs and, according to church tradition, in A.D. 64, the apostle Peter was arrested, brought to one of the great imperial circuses in Rome and martyred on an inverted cross."

The same source also states he was buried in the Vatican Hill which was located beside the circus of nero:

"His body was taken outside the walls of the arena and there, on the side of what was called the Vatican Hill, he was buried, perhaps in a small roofed grave. "

Where the Papal altar stands in the basilica, below it is the exact location of the burial site of Peter. notice how in this image the altars are built on top of each other http://saintpetersbasilica.org/Plans/papal-altar.jpg

  9. Now it goes to show that the protestants are the ones who are superstitious. They believe there is evil in the obelisk made of things created by God. LOL

  10. THANK YOU FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL SITE. WONDERFUL HISTORY AND DEVELOPMENT OF ST. PETER'S BASILICA.

  11. Yes, the Protestants are superstitious. They are the ones who propagated Halloween and Friday the 13th and the knock on the woods thing.

The Obelisk itself is not evil. It is just a cut piece of rock. It becomes evil when it is used contrary to the will of God. Using a large piece of stone for a Great Temple like St. Peter's Basilica is not evil.

  12. ON NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC:

The National Geographic has given us a lot of valuable information throughout the years but as regards religious matters especially concerning the Catholic Faith they have been found biased and bigoted.

PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT IT WAS NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC WHO PRESENTED THE CLAIM THAT THE ALLEGED TOMB OF JESUS HAD BEEN FOUND IN TALPIOT. AND THAT JESUS AND MARY MAGDALENE WERE A COUPLE WITH A SON NAMED JUDAH. But, they retracted them after they have been questioned and refuted by Historians, Bible Scholars and Archeologists from various faith.

  13. There are several places usually used for murdering Christians. The Coliseum which until now is preserved and Nero's garden. In Coliseum they were mostly fed to the lions while in the garden they were being torched alive during the night.

St. Peter was not brought to the Coliseum but on the Vatican Hill. It was a place a little secluded those times. Take note, if the place of Peter's Martyrdom was somewhere else then Catholic pilgrims will go there instead. But our pilgrimage is always directed to his tomb and to the Vatican Hill, not in the circus.

YES, BROTHER. YOU ARE RIGHT. That Obelisk was transferred by Emperor Constantine from Egypt to Rome to be a public decoration and not for religious purpose. Centuries later during the 16th Century, Pope Sixtus V, restored it when a powerful earthquake destroyed it and shattered it into 3 piece. But the Pope ordered that it a Cross be put on top. That is the sign of Christ's Triumph over paganism.

The Obelisk is not inside the Church but outside.

  15. Bias nga talaga ang National Geographic, nung minsang gumawa uli sila ng documentary tungkol sa crucifixion ni Lord eh isang maigsing buhok na Hesus ang pinakita nila, parang mga JW, short haired Jesus ang gusto

  16. According to the blog i sent you it is written that saint Peter was crucified in the circus of Nero aka the Circus of Caligula:

"Tradition says that Peter was crucified upside down (at his own request) on the spina of the circus of Caligula just south of the present Basilica. Just as likely, he was one of hundreds killed by the Roman mobs"

Actually father there is a picture in one of the link that shows the circus in the 2nd- third century. a closer look to that picture can be found in this link: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_CijcaA9yq58/SwIVrY_V8_I/AAAAAAAAELw/A1RcTuOEqlk/s1600/Vatican+Hill,+3rd+century.jpg

Notice that many years had already passed and the circus was already in ruins. looking in the center of the circus there is a small structure at the center. It is the probable site where saint peter was martyred within the vicinity of the Circus Maximus. It would be more possible that saint Peter was martyred in the Circus because Nero, who had believe to have mental illness and found pleasure in sadistically persecuting the Roman Christians (shifting the blame on them for the great fire in Rome), would like the head of the christian community there be persecuted in his face as well as the public. As National Geographic states that he was buried in the Vatican Hill, which is found at the right side of the same picture. Later it was Constantine who insisted that the temple must be built in his burial place in the vatican Hill. Notice how that small structure is joined later in the completed basilica of Constantine in this pciture http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_CijcaA9yq58/SwIYysfv0KI/AAAAAAAAEM0/LwJKpPo9KZA/s1600/Vatican+Hill%3B+Constantine%27s+Church.jpg

I saw a video in you tube about that documentary entitle "Inside the Vatican" by National Geogprahic, it tells about the story where saint Peter was martyred in the Circus and he was buried in the vatican. Many of its video where blocked by National Geographic but luckily I found a cut of that film that tells about the story. Father Abe I hope you will watch this, its a nice to know history in the Church. I hope you see it before NAtgeo blocks it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQ9762St6nU

Dont worry about this interview about National Geographic father, it has the approval from the Vatican itself and it even features John Paul II's ordination of new bishops... heheheh

  17. WELL, THE PLACE OF ST. PETER'S DEATH IS NOT DOCTRINAL IN NATURE AND CAN BE DEBATED. HOWEVER, THE CATHOLIC ENCYLOPEDIA AND THE MONUMENT AS WELL AS THE BASILICA ITSELF IN THE VATICAN ATTESTS THAT ST. PETER DIED IN THE VATICAN ITSELF AND NOT IN THE CIRCUS:

"Concerning the manner of Peter's death, we possess a tradition — attested to by Tertullian at the end of the second century (see above) and by Origen (in Eusebius, Church History II.1)—that he suffered crucifixion. Origen says: "Peter was crucified at Rome with his head downwards, as he himself had desired to suffer". As the place of execution may be accepted with great probability the Neronian Gardens on the Vatican, since there, according to Tacitus, were enacted in general the gruesome scenes of the Neronian persecution; and in this district, in the vicinity of the Via Cornelia and at the foot of the Vatican Hills, the Prince of the Apostles found his burial place." [Catholic Encyclopedia]

THE BURIAL PLACE IS AT THE FOOT OF THE VATICAN HILL AND THE PLACE OF MARTYRDOM IS VATICAN ITSELF. IF ST. PETER DIED ELSEWHERE HOW COME THERE IS NO MONUMENT OR CHURCH BUILT ON THE SPOT.

BOTH THE BASILICA OF ST. PETER AND OF ST. PAUL REVOLVED AROUND THEIR TOMBS AND THEIR PLACE OF EXECUTION.

  18. Indeed we have conflicting sources. But if we say that peter was indeed crucified in the vatican gardens then it is therefore inaccurate because basing on the map the obelisk is located a bit farther in the vatican hill. And according to my sources the current location of the vatican obelisk does not lie within the vicinity of the Neronian gardens.

One thing is undisputable though, that the location of the original tomb of saint Peter is just below the Baldachinno of Bernini.

    http://saintpetersbasilica.org/Necropolis/Pic/scavi-AreaP-layers.jpg

Here's a link of the picture of the bones of Saint Peter father. I hope you find it also interesting and just in case someone will deny the presence of Peter in Rome http://prorege-forum.com/forum_entry.php?id=224

    ReplyDelete
  19. Yes, the site of the Tomb is undisputed except for Anti-Catholics who deny the presence of Peter at all in Rome.

The tomb is at the foot of the hill. It became elevated now because of the Basilica which was intentionally elevated or built upon the elder Basilica constructed by Constantine. But naturally that place was lower that the Piazza San Pietro. The Piazza San Pietro is in the Hill itself but it was also given a make-over. It was flattened a bit to accommodate the crowd.

St. Peter was crucified not in a circus or coliseum but in a place quite secluded from the maddening crowd. HIS PLACE OF MARTYRDOM IS NOW THE GREATEST PILGRIMAGE SITE OF CHRISTIAN WORLD.

NO OTHER PLACE HAS BEEN VENERATED BY CHRISTIANS AS THE PLACE OF MARTYRDOM OF ST. PETER THE APOSTLE. IF THE COLISEUM OR A CIRCUS HAS BEEN THE PLACE OF PETER'S MARTYRDOM FOR SURE STA. HELENA AND EMPEROR CONSTANTINE AND THE EARLY CHRISTIANS WOULD MARK THAT PLACE WITH HONOR, DIGNITY AND VENERATION. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN RENAMED: THE CIRCUS OR THE COLISEUM OF PETER. BUT NOTHING OF THAT SORT. THE UNBROKEN TRADITION AND PILGRIMAGE SITE IS THE VATICAN HILL AND ITS NEARBY TOMB.

  20. If I am not mistaken, the cross on top of the obelisk contains a fragment of the true cross brought by St. Elena from Jerusalem.

    ReplyDelete
  21. the true relics of the cross was used for exorcism by a priest from Divine Mercy Parish in Sikatuna QC.. I just forgot the name of the Priest.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The motive behind the insistence that Peter was crucified in the circus is to connect Catholicism with paganism.

    ReplyDelete
  23. The parish priest of that parish is Fr. Jojo Zerrudo. He is a liturgist and an exorcist as well.

  24. WHO IS CRAZY TO GO TO THE ROMAN CIRCUS IN ORDER TO HONOR AND VENERATE ST. PETER THERE? HA, HA, HA... EVERYBODY PROCEEDS TO THE VATICAN HILL: THE BASILICA WHICH HOUSES THE TOMB AND THE ST. PETER SQUARE.
