Father Abe, it seems to me that evangelicals and born again fundamentalist pastors and ministers deny the leadership of the Church to validate their existence. Jesus started hi ministry by the calling of the twelve, why? Because he was establishing a leadership that will guide people to his church, that will perpetuate his teaching.
ReplyDeleteLeadership is important, without properly sent leaders to guide the people we are susceptible to error, and our Lord Jesus Christ knows that. He knows that the people will need a visible shepherd when he is gone.
Jesus is the way the truth and the life. St. John said that our Lord is the truth. Truth is a very important matter, a very important commodity, and truth is the Word of God who came into flesh. How did the Jesus our Lord made sure that he is proclaimed without error? By establishing his Church who will perpetuate the same truth throughout the ages. St Paul said that ‘you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth’. The Church is the pillar and foundation of the truth…that is a very powerful statement coming from an apostle. Non-Catholics ought to ask themselves what does a pillar do? What does a foundation do? Can the Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ who promised to be with it until the end of times, guided by the Holy Spirit, and God the Father making it grow, apostatized? That is a baloney if you say yes. What we have here is a Church with triple protection from the Trinity. How can it go wrong in matter faith and morals? This is a Church founded to guide people to all the truth and for that to happen it has to teach all the truth. It cannot teach half-truth like the Protestants do; it has to teach all the truth. And we know that it teaches the whole truth because the Holy Spirit guides it ( Jn 14:16, 26, Jn 16:13)
That is why bishops are sent by the laying of hands, the giving of the Holy Spirit. The Church sends her bishops by conferring the Holy Spirit, this is biblical and historical. Where are your bishops, who sent your pastors to teach, who sent your bishops to teach, do they have the blessing of the Church, the pillar and foundation of the truth? They are not sent by the Church, they sent themselves. They are self-proclaimed teachers. They are not sent properly, for if they are they will not oppose the Church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ. Do not be misled by these self proclaimed pastors, trace their origins, if they are not from the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church then you ought to read more and research more outside the influence of these charismatic self-proclaimed teachers. See what the Early Church Fathers say about the true Church, read you history from respectable historians.

The Church is the body of Christ and the house of the living God. That is the Biblical definition of the Church. And it is not possible for any organization, more so the Roman Catholic Church organization, to be the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the head of His body, but the head of the Catholic Church is the pope. Jesus Christ is God but the pope is a man. Jesus Christ never sinned; but records will show that a good number of popes are proven sinners and wrongdoers.

The Church is sometimes referred to as a body. Our body is an organized body with different functions. Can you imagine a body that is not organized?
ReplyDeleteWhy did the apostles assign bishops in the churches they founded? What do you think are the functions of bishops? The church is a body of believers who adheres to a set of beliefs. These beliefs have to one with the belief of Christ, as the beliefs of our Lord are in one with that of the Father. And Christ Jesus made sure that we are going to have the same belief by commissioning the apostles to baptize and teach all the people of all time.
The simplistic view that the church is just a body of believers and anyone can have a set of doctrines different from each other is not true. The unity that Christ prayed for is real unity not an invisible unity. It has to be a visible unity for the world to see, after all the church is a visible church, a light set up for the world to see. The Pope is the symbol of that unity. Christ while he was still here on earth chose Peter to be his visible leader, his steward, the one who will take care of his church when he leaves us. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave Peter the keys of the kingdom. Peter is long gone but the church is still here. So who has the keys now? The church is still here and so is the office of the steward that takes care of the church. One body, one faith and one Lord of all.
Matthew 16:19 might not mean anything to you, but to the Jews of that time it means a lot to them (and so to us Catholics). They understand why Matthew wrote that, they understand the language of kingdom of David; they understand that the king is going away and leaving one of his servants to take care of them, that the king is giving his full authority to his steward.

When judgment is finally rendered in the end, it is the individual and not the organization that will be judged, each one according to his own works. The individual cannot do anything for the organization and neither can any organization, not even the might and splendor of the Catholic Church, can do anything to save the perishing man, including Fr. Abe and his brainwashed ally, Ferdinand. I am certain you will not agree but the truth of God's Word shall always prevail over the lying words of men. Martin, our Lord Jesus built His Church as a means to save all mankind. He commissioned the apostles to baptize and to teach all that he commanded. Jesus even promised to be with them at all times until the end of the world.

And you are wrong I am not brainwashed by any man at all, no man brainwashed me. I researched on my own. After jumping ships several times, I finally realized that our Lord Jesus will not leave his Church orphaned and there’s got to be one true church out there with proper authority from our Lord Jesus to teach men the right way to salvation. There's got to be one true authoritative church out there who will guide and teach all the truth from God to ordinary men like me. So I researched with an open heart and mind, and that researched did not lead me to the born again church, nor the evangelical baptist church, or the Iglesia Ni Cristo, but brought me back to the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. So if there is anyone who brainwashed me, it’s got to be the Holy Spirit!
If you really want to listen to our Lord Jesus then listen to his Church who was promised the Holy Spirit to teach all the truth (John 16:13).
We are supposed to listen to the leaders who are properly sent not to those who sent themselves.
You have posted here several times already and yet you still haven’t posted any bible verse showing that the Church is not an organization. It seems that yours are empty talk and empty claim, devoid of scriptural and logical reasoning.
Mr. Cruz also forgot the fact that the Bible is also an organizational book for it's the Catholic Church who formed,protected and interpreted it centuries before those biblical Pimps ever came to be. it is obvious na the Church was built by Jesus himself, so if he built it he founded it. if the term used was "found" it could be something ALREADY EXISTENT, but was HIDDEN and later REVEALED. but NO, it is clear here in the passage that he BUILT his Church, meaning NON-EXISTENT at that time, so if ONE BEING BUILT something out of NOTHING, OBVIOUSLY he is the founder of his OWN CREATION. that is why it is ONLY the CATHOLIC Church that claims and by historically EVIDENCE for 2000+ years, that it is the TRUE CHURCH Built BY JESUS.
