Based on your response, the verse Matthew 5:22 appears to remind you: "But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire." How many times did you answer by calling somebody 'tanga'. I haven't seen such priest saying such words. Are you saying it out of love or out of hate?

ReplyDeleteDahil sa pagbabasa ko ng sagot nio sa mga sinungaling katulad ng mga Born Against Christian, natututo po ako kung panu depensahan ang aking pananampalatayang Katoliko. Alam ko na po ang mga sasabihin ko sa kanila pag kinausap nila ulit ako.
Sa pag-babasa ng blog ninyo, napansin ko po na ang madalas na kapalpakan ng mga born-against ay pag-iisip nila kung alin ang totoo sa mga logical oppositions na contrary. Halimbawa po ay sasabihin nila ay ganito:
"Saan makikita sa Bible na dapat mag-rosary o mag-dasal sa mga Santo? Wala."

Regarding Gal 3:1, I suggest you check the original Greek word. You will find that it denotes lack of understanding. In fact the translation you used only returned some 140 results. "1 Oh mga mangmang na taga Galacia, sino ang mga nagsigayuma sa inyo, na sa harapan ng inyong mga mata'y si Jesucristo, na napako sa krus, ay maliwanag na inihayag?" The issue is that whether you use the word out of love for them... Never ever ever out of pride and out of anger and hate for the individual.

You even type in all caps.. which according to internet etiquette is shouting. Isn't it said in the bible to that we should love and be gentle.. Using offensive words like "tanga" is not of love nor of gentleness but are of hate and are not of God... even if you justify that it is just telling the truth, It is still displaying such strong hatred.. since these words have strong negative connotations in them that it doesn't make it right. Yes, Tanga/Mang-mang and Lack Understanding may have the same term.. but the main difference is that the latter shows gentleness and love while the former shows hatred.
Your last comment just made me more sad, because as a priest, shouldn't you be the one setting a good example to your readers by not using such offensive language and showing hatred?

Even if you say that born-agains use hurtful words against Catholics, it is still not an excuse for you to do the same thing. Why not be the better Christian and stop yourself from using hateful language? Those verses are commands, and should be the initiative of the believer. Even if others are showing you otherwise.. you should still treat them as to how you want to be treated. Personally, i haven't seen Born-agains be as rude.. but when I do though, I would not appreciate them even if they're making a good point..

you say that born-agains are of the devil, but by showing such attitude, I can confidently say that you have a lot of growing up to do in your faith as well. It really seems that you see born-agains as enemies.. still, you should still show Love as the famous verse from the bible goes:

Lastly, even if my reason for commenting here is not for this, here are some verses I saw just by searching google regarding faith-alone and that it's all we need to be saved. Since you claimed that no such verse exist..
Gal. 2:16, "nevertheless knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the Law but through faith in Christ Jesus, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the Law; since by the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
Gal. 2:21, I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.
Eph. 2:8-9, "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. 9Not by works, lest any man should boast."
Rom. 4:5, "But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is reckoned as righteousness,"
Rom. 11:6, "But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise grace is no longer grace."

Your reasoning doesn't make sense because even if some Born-agains use hurtful language, why stoop down low to that same level? If you are a true Christian, wouldn't you still follow the word of God, than to stoop down to the level of your haters?

by stooping down low as the rude born-agains you that you claim use the same language, you are showing to me and other readers that you are no better than them.

anyway, you say that born-agains use insults to Catholics as well, I don't think I can really do anything about it.. I am just a 19 year old student. not really the most active person in Church.. I haven't even read the bible in it's entirety (I'm still in Judges), and to be honest, I don't think I'm really the best person to talk to about these things...
I also haven't seen Born-agains be rude and hurtful... in fact I haven't even seen a priest be rude and hurtful until I saw this blog.. you're actually the very first

I have tons of Catholic friends and I don't insult them when I talk to them about these things.. they actually like the way I speak because they say they don't feel attacked. I know Catholics have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour and with that, i am confident that they too will be in heaven.
In the end, I love God with all my heart, I believe that Jesus died for our sins and have accepted him as my lord and saviour. I pray to him that everyone in the world will be saved, even though I know that won't happen, i still pray for it. I do my best to be a good person, not because I want to be saved, I do it because I love God and i want Him to be happy.. given that i still continue to slip and fall, I know that He is here with me and ready to forgive me. Anyway, i know God loves me, even if YOU think I'm a liar and from demons.. I still know that HE loves me and that's what's important..
anyway, continue to hate if you want.. still, God orders you to love.. and it's obvious you are not doing that.. if Born-agains show hate to Catholics, I will say that you are no better than them... you are not being a good Christian just as they are. Makes me lose hope with all humanity actually.. I never imagined that people who claim to be people of God can be this hurtful.. this goes both with Born-Agains and Catholics.. it's just sad..

Like the OSAS theology, so many people do not understand that it is not enough to simply make an altar call and accept Jesus as their Personal Lord and Savior to become saved. Another thing is the Prosperity Doctrine. Pastors are promising to the people that if they give 10% of their money to their ministry, they would be blessed by God financially. Please pray for these people who are tolerating a different gospel and a different Jesus that they may open their minds and hearts to the truth and that they may come back to the Catholic Church with One Lord, One Faith, One baptism, One God and Father of all

Nagakatotoo po sa kanila at sa mga Protestante ung prediction ni Gamaliel na "If these teachings were from men, it will collapse.
