Ako po'y isang katoliko,nagpapasalamat po talaga ako sa blog mo kasi marami akong natutunan.

Itatanong ko sana,bakit may ibang Katoliko na sabi bawal ang debate lalong lalo na mga pari,may iba hindi,,mababasa ba natin biblia ang salitang debate? o naaayon ba ito sa turo ni Cristo?..

bakit may ibang catholic priest ayaw sa mga catholic faith defenders?

kung tutuosin maganda kung may mga apologists na ganito para maipagtanggol ang ating banal na iglesia..official po bang tinanggap ng simbahang katoliko ang mga catholic faith defenders?

anong masasabi mo tungkol dito father..

KASI ANG ALAM LAMANG NILA AY ANG MAJOR DUTIES NG PRIESTS TULAD NG PAGMIMISA, PAGBINBINYAG AT PAGPAPAKUMPISAL. HINDI SILA AWARE NA ANG APOLOGETICS AY ISA RIN SA MGA KATUNGKULAN NG PARI. SA KATUNAYAN SINA ST. ATHANASIUS, ST. AUGUSTINE, ST. CYPRIAN, ST. HILLARY, ST. IRAENEUS AT IBA PA AY MGA CATHOLIC APOLOGISTS.

HINDI NAMAN ITO BAWAL SA MGA PARI BASTA YUNG PARI AY WELL-TRAINED FOR DEBATE. KASI MOST OF OUR PRIESTS ARE NOT TRAINED FOR DEBATES; THEY WERE TRAINED FOR PREACHING, TEACHING AND ADMINISTRATIVE WORKS.

ANG DAPAT MAKIPAGDEBATE AY ANG MGA DEBATISTA NG SANTA IGLESIA.

[may iba hindi,,mababasa ba natin biblia ang salitang debate? o naaayon ba ito sa turo ni Cristo?..]

SI SAN PABLO AT SI SAN STEBAN AY NAKIPAGTALO SA MGA JUDIO TUNGKOL SA FAITH. BUT NOT NECESSARILY FORMAL DEBATE NA KAGAYA NGAYON.

PERO DEBATE IS PART OF A CIVILIZED WORLD'S EXCHANGE OF IDEAS. HINDI ITO LABAG SA BIBLIA.

HINDI KO ALAM. SIGURO MAY PAGKAKAMALI ANG IBANG CATHOLIC APOLOGISTS BAKA HINDI SILA HUMINGI NG PERMISSION MULA SA PARISH PRIEST NILA. MALI YON. DAPAT TUWING MAKIKIPAG DEBATE SILA AY HIHINGI NG AUTHORIZATION AT BLESSING NG PARISH PRIEST AT NG BIBHOP.

JOSE PALMA ANG BAGONG ARSOBISPO NG CEBU. AT GANON DIN ANG IBA PANG MGA OBISPO SA VISAYAS AT MINDANAO. IN FACT, LAST MAY 2011 NATIONAL CONVENTION OF THE CFD ANG FINAL GUEST OF HONOR AY SI ARCH. PALMA.

    May mga seminars po ba na open sa public ang CFD?

  2. Yes, mayroon. Almost all Apologetics of CFD are open to the public. They regularly debate any willing Pastor of any religion in the Plazas of Cebu and Davao and even their Radio programs are open to others who are willing to debate or exchange ideas on radio.

  3. A lot of Filipino Catholics are not properly catechized. I was not catechized at all, even by my parents. So like me a lot are easily persuaded by other religion to leave the Church.

    I remember my protestant neighbors’ children inviting my children to join them in their church activities. My children said that we have that too and it is called CCD. Then the other girl said that they thought that we were Christians, so my children said that we are, but they said that we are Catholics and Catholics are not really Christians. I saw the danger there so after that I started teaching my children simple catechism and application of that catechism thru apologetics.

    I’m glad I did father Abe, my son once told me that all his friends at school are ELMS (Evangelical Lutherans Missouri Synod) and they did not know that he is a Catholic, so they started ranting about Catholics; they said that Catholics are so stupid and morons that they believed in purgatory and confession to priest, and they kept on ranting and my son said he just let them talking for about 5 minutes, then at the right time when there was a pause in the conversation, without looking at them directly he said, “ I’m Catholic.” Then everyone fell silent. He said that every one of his friends felt so awkward. Then it was his turn to talk defend the Catholic position, and when he mentioned bible verses that supports our belief in purgatory and gave them some scenarios about life and death; no one can’t answer him. He asked them if they believe that all in heaven are holy and clean, and that there is no impurity there, they said yes. So he gave scenario and asked them that if they lived a holy life all their lives and for some reason committed a minor sin like swearing out of frustration is that consider an impurity, they said yes. So he asked them if that sin warrants hell if for some reason they die without asking God for forgiveness. There was silence, nobody answered. Then he asked them about Gods justice and mercy, and how they fit the belief in purgatory. Then they continued their lunch without talking. But my son said that he kept smiling and looking at them waiting for an answer, but they kept their eyes down till they were done eating. I thought it was funny and awkward since my son is the quiet type who talks only when necessary. He said that from then on, they never said anything about Catholics anymore in front of him.

    Father Abe, I think CCD should be followed by bible classes for teens or like an equivalent of the RCIA program to further their knowledge of what the Catholic Church teaches.It should be mandatory in Catholic Schools.

  4. In the United States the RCC has a solid CCD and RCIA programs because of the Protestant challenges. Unfortunately it is not as strong here in the Phl because we are Catholic majority. Catechism is very much neglected.

  5. I am thankful na may CFD, lalo na po ngayon na sobrang naaatake ang mga teachings ng Church. Hindi naman maaaring pabayaan na lang nating mga Katoliko na balahurain ng ibang tao ang Banal na Simbahang Katolika, ang Esposa ni Kristo!

    Pero sana rin ay watchful pa rin ang defenders sa kanilang intentions. May it be pure and not for the mere sake of arguing. Patuloy kaming magdadasal para sa kanila.
