  1. Fr. abe Good day po. I want to ask something about the music in Holy Mass. I read something that the Church discourages the use of Guitar in the Holy Mass.   2. THAT QUOTE IS QUESTIONABLE AND OBVIOUSLY DISTORTED. THE GUITAR IS NOT SATANIC BECAUSE IT IS A STRING INSTRUMENTS. STRING INSTRUMENTS ARE USED FOR THE TEMPLE WORSHIP AND EVEN MENTIONED IN THE SACRED PSALMS.

    I THINK THE SMOKE OF SATAN HAS ENTERED INTO THOSE THAT REJECT THE GUITAR MORE THAN THOSE WHO USE IT.

  3. Fr. Abe, This is regarding the use of Guitar in the Holy Mass. ito po ang sinabi ng Cardinal... hindi po pala as in Bawal talaga. But is the Church insisting that we should limit the use of Guitar in Mass?? "I will not now pronounce and say never guitar; that would be rather severe," Cardinal Arinze added. "But much of guitar music may not be suitable at all for the Mass. Yet, it is possible to think of some guitar music that would be suitable, not as the ordinary one we get every time, [but with] the visit of a special group, etc."

    "The judgment would be left to the bishops of the area. It is wiser that way," he pointed out. "Also, because there are other instruments in many countries which are not used in Italy or in Ireland, for instance.

    "People don't come to Mass in order to be entertained. They come to Mass to adore God, to thank him, to ask pardon for sins, and to ask for other things that they need."

    KUNG ANG GUITAR AY INSTRUMENT OF THE DEVIL E BAKIT PINAHINTULUTAN PARIN? MAG-IINGAT SA MGA PINAGSASABI.

    ACTUALLY, HINDI NAMAN TINUTURO SA CHURCH NATIN NA GAMITIN ANG GUITAR AS PRIMARY INSTRUMENT. IN FACT, GUITAR IS MINIMALLY USED. ANG PRIMARY INSTRUMENT SA WORSHIP NATIN AY ORGAN. IN ALMOST ALL PARISHES ORGAN ANG GAMIT AT ANG MAIN INSTRUMENT. BATA PA AKO ORGANISTA ANG PRIMARY MUSICIAN NG CHURCH NAMIN AT HALOS LAHAT NA ALAM KONG PARISHES.

    ANG GUITAR AY GINAGAMIT SA MGA MAHIHIRAP NA CHAPELS NA WALANG ORGAN.

    THEN, PAG MAY GUITAR BAWAL NA ITO AY MASYADONG MALAKAS AT BAWAL ANG ROCK N ROLL TYPE OF MUSIC.

    YUNG SABI NA "PEOPLE COME TO MASS NOT TO BE ENTERTAINED" IT CAN ALSO BE SAID IN THE USE OF ORCHESTRA IN THE MASS OR IN THE SINGING OF VERDI OR MOZART'S WORKS IN THE MASS OR THE PERFORMANCES OF PALESTRINA OR HANDEL'S MESSIAH DURING THE MASS. DI BA ENTERTAINING ANG MGA IYON? PERO ALLOWED IN THE CHURCH ALSO.
