The so-called Prophecy of St. Malachy is not an official Catholic teaching. In fact, Catholic historians are almost unanimous in saying that it is a forgery and not realy from St. Malachy himself.
If you will read the prophecy they are subject to various interpretations so that you cannot really determine with finality if the so-called prophecy has been truly realized. One obvious example of this is the present Pope, Benedict XVI:
"Gloria olivæ
The Benedictine order traditionally said this Pope would come from their order, since a branch of the Benedictine order is called the Olivetans. St Benedict is said to have prophesied that before the end of the world, a member of his order would be Pope and would triumphantly lead the Church in its fight against evil. While the Holy Father chose the name "Benedict", this does not seem enough to fulfil the prophecy. Nor is it clear how Benedict XVI (a Bavarian) is "Glory of the Olives". Since he is said to have remarked in the Conclave after saying he would take the name Benedict that it was partly to honour Benedict XV, a pope of peace and reconciliation, perhaps Benedict XVI will be a peacemaker in the Church or in the World, and thus carry the olive branch."
However, there are instances for instance that the Prophecy appears to be evidently realized on the elected Pope and one of the best example of this is Pope John Paul the Great whose election was totally a surprised to the world:
"De labore Solis
(of the eclipse of the sun, or from the labour of the sun)
Hist.: Karol Wojtyla was born on May 18, 1920 during a solar eclipse. He also comes from behind the former Iron Curtain (the East, where the Sun rises). He might also be seen to be the fruit of the intercession of the Woman Clothed with the Sun labouring in Revelation 12 (because of his devotion to the Virgin Mary). His Funeral occurred on 8 April, 2005 when there was a solar eclipse visible in the Americas."
It is hard to find connection between Pope Benedict XVI and the prophecy "The Glory of the Olives" but for John Paul the Great the prophecy "From the labor of the Sun or The Eclipse of the Sun" really fits because he was born during a SOLAR ECLIPSE.
It is not stated that after the Pope which is called "The Glory of the Olives" [allegedly Pope Benedict XVI] will be the last Pope. Instead, the prophecy states that the last Pope shall be called Peter the Roman. It is not clear though if there are Popes in between the reign of The Glory of Olives and Peter the Roman.
When I was young I have read an article written by a Seventh Day Adventist that according to the Prophecy of St. Malacy the last Pope - Peter the Roman shall be the anti-Christ. But, there is no basis for that because the prophecy speaks of the last Pope as the one who will feed or nourish the Church despite the persecutions or trials.

Do you have any historical documentation concerning this other than "is said to have prophesied"?
Sincerely,
the resurrected St. John the Baptist,
whom Jesus Christ calls "the Elias who was to come",
enjoying the rapture of Christ's love in the duty of Petrus Romanus (Peter the Roman),
your ultimate, penultimate authority.
AS YOU CAN SEE THAT STATEMENT IS A QUOTATION. IT WAS TAKEN FROM THE LINK I'VE PROVIDED. ITS A VERY FAMOUS CATHOLIC SITE EXPLAINING A LOT OF THINGS AOBUT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. THEY WERE THE ONES WHO WROTE SUCH STATEMENT.
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA... HINDI KO NA NGA PINANSIN IYONG LAST PART NIYA E. HE HE HE... PRANING TALAGA.
ReplyDeleteThe link doesn't work, and your answer cites only plagiarism.
ReplyDeleteSo, is that a yes or a no, as Christ taught to say 'yes' when you mean 'yes', and 'no' when you mean 'no'?
Again : Do you have any historical documentation concerning this other than "is said to have prophesied"?
(Yes or No)
[The link doesn't work, and your answer cites only plagiarism.]
ReplyDeleteTHE LINK WORKS BECAUSE THAT IS A VERY ACTIVE CATHOLIC SITE. AND PLEASE CLARIFY YOUR ENGLISH, I CANT UNDERSTAND YOU. WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY 'your answer cites only plagiarism'? BE CLEAR IN YOUR STATEMENTS.
[So, is that a yes or a no, as Christ taught to say 'yes' when you mean 'yes', and 'no' when you mean 'no'?]
MR. FAKE ELIJAH, USE YOUR HEAD. I ALREADY TOLD YOU THAT IT WAS NOT MY STATEMENT BUT IT WAS A QUOTATION FROM THE ARTICLE GIVEN BY THE CATHOLIC PAGES. IT WAS NOT PLAGIARISM BECAUSE I GAVE THE SOURCE.
[Again : Do you have any historical documentation concerning this other than "is said to have prophesied"?]
I CAN'T UNDERSTAND YOUR POINT. THE ARTICLE IS THE DOCUMENTATION ITSELF.
[(Yes or No)]
YES AND NO ON WHAT?
It is a simple yes or no question. You needn't give over to the devil. It isn't a point, it is a question. Yes or No?
ReplyDeleteDo you have any historical documentation concerning this other than "is said to have prophesied"?
[It is a simple yes or no question.]
ReplyDeleteYOUR QUESTION IS NOT ANSWERABLE BY YES OR NO BECAUSE THE STATEMENT THAT YOU CLAIMED TO BE MINE IS NOT MINE AT ALL BUT WRITTEN BY ANOTHER THE SCHOLAR WHO WROTE THE ARTICLE I QUOTED. IT IS TO THAT WEBSITE YOU MUST ASK YOUR QUESTION.
MY POST FOCUSED ON THE OFFICIAL STAND OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH ON THE PROPHECY OF ST. MALACHY AND NOT ON THE OPINIONS OF THE BENEDICTINES CONCERNING THE PROPHECY.
[You needn't give over to the devil.]
I AM NOT GIVING OVER TO THE DEVIL. YOU ARE THE ONE GIVING OVER TO THE DEVIL BY CLAIMING THAT YOU ARE ELIJAH. HOW DARE YOU! YOU ARE DELUSIONAL.
[It isn't a point, it is a question. Yes or No?]
ARE YOU SO STUPID TO DISCERN THAT YOU ARE ASKING THE WRONG PERSON FOR THAT QUESTION? I AM NOT NECESSITATED TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION FOR THAT STATEMENT SINCE THE STATEMENT IS NOT MINE. CONCERNING MY DOCUMENTATION FOR SUCH A QUOTE I ALREADY GAVE IT. THE LINK TO A RESPECTED CATHOLIC WEBSITE WHERE SCHOLARLY CATHOLIC ARTICLES ARE GIVEN IS MY DOCUMENTATION. IT SO HAPPENED THAT YOUR MIND CANNOT GRASP THAT FACT.
[Do you have any historical documentation concerning this other than "is said to have prophesied"?]
YOUR QUESTION HAVE BEEN ANSWERED AND THERE IS NO NEED TO REPEAT MY ANSWER. AND ONCE AGAIN YOUR QUESTION IS VAGUE AND UNCLEAR.
According to you, Fr. Abe, CRS - yes or no, as Christ taught. I understand you are quoting another article.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you say - Did who we know as St. Benedict actually prophesy a Vicar of Christ from the Order of Benedictines? Yes or no? "Is said to have prophecied" does not constitute a confirmation of a prophecy, but places such quoting on the level of gossip.
Here is your chance to either confirm it as a valid prophecy or leave it on the level as a piece of seemingly petty, scandalous muttering.
[According to you, Fr. Abe, CRS - yes or no, as Christ taught. I understand you are quoting another article.]
ReplyDeleteYOU ARE AN IDIOT. IF YOU UNDERSTAND THAT I WAS QUOTING ANOTEHR ARTICLE THEN WHAT IS THE POINT OF ASKING ME ABOUT THAT ARTICLE. ASK THE AUTHOR OF THAT ARTICLE.
[What do you say - Did who we know as St. Benedict actually prophesy a Vicar of Christ from the Order of Benedictines? Yes or no?]
IDIOT. I NEVER CLAIM THAT ST. BENEDICT ACTUALLY PROPHESY THAT A VICAR OF CHRIST WILL COME FROM THE BENEDICTINE ORDER. SO IT IS STUPID OF YOU TO ASK ME YES OR NO ABOUT IT.
[ "Is said to have prophecied" does not constitute a confirmation of a prophecy, but places such quoting on the level of gossip.]
ARE YOU REALLY NAIVE OR PLAIN STUPID. IT WAS NOT ME WHO WROTE THAT AND THE TOPIC THAT I DISCUSSED IN THAT POST IS NOT FOCUSED ON THE BENEDICTINE ORDER BUT WHETHER THE ALLEGED PROPHECY OF ST. MALACHY IS OFFICIALLY ACCEPTED BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH OR NOT. YOU CAN WALLOW IN YOUR DELUSIONS ABOUT THAT ISSUE BUT I DON'T CARE.
[Here is your chance to either confirm it as a valid prophecy or leave it on the level as a piece of seemingly petty, scandalous muttering.]
IDIOT. YOU ARE THE FOOL WHO ENTERED INTO SUCH PETTY MUTTERING. YOU ARE HIGHLIGHTING A MINOR DETAIL OUT OF AN ARTICLE THAT I QUOTED AND YOU WANT ME TO ANSWER ABOUT THAT DETAIL ON SOMETHING WHICH DIDN'T COME FROM ME AND I DIDN'T INTENTIONALLY DISCUSSED. DREAM ON.
You insist on avoiding an answer. We both know you have quoted another writing - I, at least, have no problem with that so long as you don't calumniate in the process.
ReplyDeleteI do not treat the prophecy of names given through St. Malachy as something alleged. I actively confirm that prophecy. I have gone to dozens of dozens of forums and blogs expressing that confirmation.
I do have issue with Benedict XVI, as history has unfolded, being Cardinal Ratzinger, a brilliant member of the Body of Christ, in specific fulfillment of "Gloria Olivae" due to study of other prophecy.
Under the subtitle "The Reign of the Five Popes" at :
http://www.ccg.org/english/s/p288.html
we read an interpretation of Pius XII being the fulfillment of "after the very aged Pope's death", yet John Paul II outlived Pius XI in years. When we read further, how is a known elderly Cardinal of German descent described as a "Roman of good age".
It just doesn't add up, as the saying goes.
I think the further surfacing of "is said to have prophesied" is part of the devil's plan to confuse all of us.
I do not detract from you anything you have written nor quoted, even your personal affrontages against me. Your exclusion of this section of your blog would probably not have brought us together.
St. Paul wrote : "I would have that these prophecies confirmed." It is in this regard that I ask for a straight yes or no, but I do not demand an answer from you.
As for cyberbullying in general, I have found it to be in blossom as regards the resurrection of the dead, to which, according to our Creed, we look to as an item of faith. I keep a fairly strict record of those who overstep their bounds in this regard :
http://risen-from-the-dead.forumotion.com/t3-testimony-against-apostates
Your hesitancy to answer more serves to confirm my study, as well as support a devilish ploy, as Christ said, "Say 'yes' when you mean 'yes', and 'no' when you mean 'no', anything else comes from the evil one."
And just for the record, I am St. John the Baptist resurrected. Christ even says through the gift of prophecy sent in His name that I come out of the tomb.
May Christ's peace remain with you.
[You insist on avoiding an answer.]
ReplyDeleteI AM NOT AVOIDING AN ANSWER. IT SO HAPPENED THAT YOUR QUESTION MUST BE DIRECTED ON ANOTHER AUTHOR AND NOT TO ME. YOU ARE ASKING ME TO ANSWER FOR THE STATEMENT OF ANOTHER PERSON FOR THAT YOU ARE OUT OF TOUCH WITH REALITY.
IF YOU JUST POSTED YOUR IDEAS AS YOU HAVE DONE NOW THEN THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS PROBLEM. INSTEAD YOU MADE AN ISSUE ABOUT THAT BENEDICTINE THING.
[We both know you have quoted another writing - I, at least, have no problem with that so long as you don't calumniate in the process.]
I DO NOT CALUMNIATE I JUST WANT TO REMIND YOU THAT YOU ARE OUT OF LINE. IF I QUOTED THE SPEECH OF OBAMA DON'T INTERROGATE ME AS IF I AM OBAMA WHO MUST GIVE THE BASIS OF WHAT HE HAD CLAIMED IN THE SPEECH. THAT IS PATHETIC OF YOU.
[Your hesitancy to answer more serves to confirm my study, as well as support a devilish ploy, as Christ said, "Say 'yes' when you mean 'yes', and 'no' when you mean 'no', anything else comes from the evil one."]
YOU ARE INDEED A FOOL. THAT STATEMENT OF THE LORD IS GIVEN TO PEOPLE WHO MUST ANSWER FOR THEMSELVES CONCERNING FAITH AND MORALS. INSTEAD, YOU ARE ASKING ME ABOUT AN ARTICLE MADE BY ANOTHER.
STOP USING THE GOSPEL TO HIDE YOUR OWN INSANITY.
[And just for the record, I am St. John the Baptist resurrected. Christ even says through the gift of prophecy sent in His name that I come out of the tomb.]
YOU ARE NOT ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST. ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST IS NEITHER AN IDIOT NOR A FOOL. YOU ARE DELUSIONAL AND HALLUCINATING. BETTER FOR YOU TO RETURN TO THE TOMB WHERE YOU BELONG. IF YOU ARE TRULY ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST YOU WILL NOT SPEND TIME ON THE PROPHECY OF ST. MALACHY BUT YOU WILL GO TO THE KINGS AND LEADERS OF THE LAND AND REMIND THEM TO STOP THEIR ADULTERY AND REPENT.
OBVIOUSLY, YOU ARE A FAKE.
[May Christ's peace remain with you.]
PEACE BE WITH YOU TOO.
