IN QUO PRIMUM POPE PIUS V CATEGORICALLY SAID THAT THE TLM IS "A NEW RITE" MADE BY A COMMISSION OF EXPERTS. IT'S EXACTLY DONE IN THE SAME MANNER BY WHICH POPE PAUL VI REVISED THE MASS.

Fr. Abe, CRS,

You are incorrect.

Quo Primum codifies the rituals that were slightly different into one ritual. Not only that, but it left untouched rituals that were more than 200 years old such as the Dominican rite.

Quo Primum guarantees the right to say the Mass codified by Pope SAINT Pius V, by any priest, at any time, FOREVER.

[Fr. Abe, CRS,

You are incorrect.]

YOU ARE INCORRECT. THE QUO PRIMUM WORD FOR WORD STATED THAT IT WAS IMPLEMENTING A NEW RITE. READ:

"This NEW RITE alone is to be used unless approval of the practice of saying Mass differently was given at the very time of the institution and confirmation of the church by Apostolic See at least 200 years ago, or unless there has prevailed a custom of a similar kind which has been continuously followed for a period of not less than 200 years, in which most cases We in no wise rescind their above-mentioned prerogative or custom. However, if this Missal, which we have seen fit to publish, be more agreeable to these latter, We grant them permission to celebrate Mass according to its rite, provided they have the consent of their bishop or prelate or of their whole Chapter, everything else to the contrary notwithstanding." [QUO PRIMUM, Par 4]

SO, THE TLM WAS NOVUS ORDO WHEN IT WAS IMPLEMENTED. IT WAS A NEW RITE. NOT ONLY THAT, POPE PIUS V ALSO NOTED THAT THE TLM WAS A PRODUCT OF A COMMISSION THAT HE ESTABLISHED TO MAKE THAT NEW RITE:

"Hence, We decided to entrust this work to learned men of our selection. They very carefully collated all their work w
ith the ancient codices in Our Vatican Library and with reliable, preserved or emended codices from elsewhere." [QUO PRIMUM, Par. 2]

[Quo Primum codifies the rituals that were slightly different into one ritual. Not only that, but it left untouched rituals that were more than 200 years old such as the Dominican rite.]

STILL, THE TLM WAS A NEW RITE ACCORDING TO POPE PIUS V AND IT WAS MADE BY FEW EXPERTS SELECTED BY THE POPE. IT WAS PRODUCED BY A PAPAL COMMISSION EXACTLY LIKE THE PAULINE MASS. HERE IS THE PROOF:

"In setting forth its instructions for the revision of the Order of Mass, the Second Vatican Council, using the same words as did St. Pius V in the Apostolic Constitution Quo primum, by which the Missal of Trent was promulgated in 1570, also ordered, among other things, that some rites be restored “to the original norm of the holy Fathers.”[11] From the fact that the same words are used it can be seen how both Roman Missals, although separated by four centuries, embrace one and the same tradition. Furthermore, if the inner elements of this tradition are reflected upon, it also becomes clear how outstandingly and felicitously the older Roman Missal is brought to fulfillment in the new."- GIRM # 6

IF YOU ARE NOT IGNORANT OF THE BIBLE AND THE WORDS OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST WHO IS GOD AND LORD AND SURELY HIGHER THAN POPE PIUS V -- ST. PETER, AND HIS SUCCESSORS OF COURSE, CAN BIND AND LOOSE [MT 16:18-19] SO IF POPE PIUS V CAN BIND, POPE PAUL VI CAN LOOSE AND IF POPE PIUS V CAN LOOSE POPE PAUL VI CAN BIND. ONLY THOSE WHO ARE IGNORANT OF THE APOSTOLIC TRADITION DO NOT KNOW THAT. SURELY, LEFEVRE THE WACKY OLD FOOL AND THE SSPX ARE IGNORANT OF THAT OR THEY TURN A BLIND EYE.

THE WORD 'FOREVER' IN THAT DOCUMENT AND IN ANY CANONICAL OR LEGAL DOCUMENTS MEANS 'EFFECTIVE INDEFINITELY UNLESS REVOKED BY THE SAME AUTHORITY'. THE POPE ISSUED AND ANOTHER POPE WITH EQUAL AUTHORITY AND POWER MODIFIED. ONLY FOOLS LIKE THE SSPX CANNOT UNDERSTAND SUCH SIMPLE MATTER.

O NO, NO, NO... THE AMBROSIAN RITE IS NOT SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE BYZANTINE RITE OR THE SYRO-MALABAR RITE. EXCUSE ME. STOP INSULTING OUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE ANCIENT RITES. THEY ARE VERY VERY DIFFERENT.

[Not only that, but it left untouched rituals that were more than 200 years old such as the Dominican rite.]

POPE PAUL VI, OF BLESSED MEMORY, ALSO LEFT THEM UNTOUCHED. LIKE POPE ST. PIUS V HE ORDERED A PANEL OF EXPERTS TO DRAFT A NEW RITE BASED ON THE OLD RITES. SO THE PAULINE MASS IS THE SIMPLIFIED VERSION OF THE TLM AND VERY VERY SIMILAR TO TLM EXCEPT IN ACCIDENTS: LANGUAGE AND SIMPLIFIED VESTMENTS, ETC.

if tama po ang iniisip ko, Vatican II not only aimed in having the previous rites "untouched." They were also in one way, "restored" (as GIRM # 6 says.)
